The newest edition of the 00z EURO shows a 966 mb low making landfall at the Northern Tip of the Washington coastline. I tried to hold out hope but the trend is not our friend if you want a major windstorm for PDX. I can't lie any longer and deny what's going to happen. Today PDX peak gust was 33 mph. PDX will be lucky to get a 40+ wind gust on Saturday IMO. The low if too offshore for PDX. You guys up North have a better chance. I got all worked up for nothing. Too much hype for basically nothing. Good night!

Funny thing is, the WRF likes the idea of a similar burst early tomorrow morning with what appears to be a fairly innocuous open wave.

No gusts above 85 mph so far, even at the exposed locations w/elevation. The wind burst two nights ago was more impressive out there.

Amazing.  Hoquiam had a gust to 51.  You must be blocked there.

The storm looks to be ahead of schedule for how far north it is right now.  The forward motion could add to wind potential.

Its weird, normally we will see 40 mph gusts when Hoquiam is 50 or higher, and with Olympia gusting near 40, but we are just getting a light breeze at times with the heavy rain.

Funny you say that because I was at the store today buying stuff for tomorrow's Hawks game and overheard people in front of me talking how bad the storm was going to be. I kindly and gently let them know that this will most likely be a non-event to an average fall storm. The media is overplaying this and said do not be surprised if it never comes.
