I grew up in upstate NY and wed average around 80-100" a year and these people down near NYC lose their over 3", heck they cancel school over that. I am surprised that all public schools were closed because we have gotten much bigger snowstorms and schools in Manhattan do not tend to close that easily. As far as New Yorkers losing their S**t ova 3" is not true because we are a tough crowd there. At times the snow and blowing snow reduced visibility down to less than half a mile. But with the wind there has not been much accumulation. The temperature is 18° with snow showers and wind.
