It will not be moving northward much. So far this cold snap has really been odd in that the min temps have been ho hum, but the max temps have bee historically cold for this early. Very different than our typical cold snaps during this century. Helps being north of the lows. It takes a lot to get a low to come in south of Portland this early in a major offshore flow pattern. Even with the beast airmasses in 1985 and 2010, the lows went just to the north of Portland. This one has been pretty typical for November climo, IMO. I have been watching a band approach here and its over me now but its not that impressive. Snow is not accumulating now and its falling off the trees. Radar is also in hyper-sensitive mode so things look more impressive than they are in reality. Right now looking like some chilly offshore flow with a system moving in over it. We drove up to Govt Camp yesterday after the hike and it was VERY wintery!
