High of 34 at PDX so far. Pretty darn impressive for 2/20. Makes up for yesterday’s 40 fail just a bit.

I believe it is a new daily record if it should stand.

Dude, you got like 10" over the weekend

Actually it was 13” but due to the slow arrival of the cold dry air I lost about 5” that day. ☹️

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Yeah, beat out 2006’s 38. I would rather have seen a 20th century record fall since the 2000s already have so little cold record representation as it is.

I do think 1957’s 37 tomorrow and 1942’s 41 on Friday could also be in jeopardy, potentially. The 34 on 2/22/57 is probably unbeatable for Thursday though.

Mark still standing by his 2-5 inches but he might be starting to sweat. I do think that stuff on the Langley hill radar starts to hit the metro in the next hour just around sun down. HIO is reporting all east winds now.

"All of our weather forecast models show a burst of moderate to heavy snow 5 & 10pm this evening. We're counting on that to give us at least 2" in most of the metro area. In general we expect 2-5" totals once the snow ends around midnight. In the hills up around 1,000'. 1-3" is on the ground from this morning; so that means up to 8" could be on the ground by the Wednesday AM commute.

SNOW ENDS AFTER MIDNIGHT

Incredible and just 30 miles down the road, NOTHING!

Basically south of Marysville and north of Stanwood have nothing on the ground. So fortunate to be at ground zero!

We are really flying blind without a radar. Will diminish the enjoyment of this event immensely.

Snow cannot truly be enjoyed without watching the back edge creep closer on radar.

Precip is here, moderate rain with a few melty snowflakes mixed in. 35.0F

Gentlemen, it has been a pleasure. Time to go find some whisky, a lot of it.

Looks like there is sticking snow even on the coast with that feature. Give it time.

Still snowing lightly here. Hopefully that bodes well for no periods of rain mixing in.

Yeah I was just being dramatic, I do expect most of west and south metro to switch to all snow within the next hour. DPs are dropping and east winds increasing.
