PNW February 2023 Weather Discussion - Meteorological winter finale

Recommended Posts

Interesting, I was expecting my DP to be up from my last check at 27…It’s down to 23 with the temp spike to 37…Odd!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Definitely some uncertainty regarding tomorrow night.  The ECMWF keeps wanting to put some snow over parts of King County, but the GFS doesn't show it.

It was showing 9-10in possibly in the south sound this week and now it’s down 3-5. Still good tho

The good news on this GFS run is the low track.  Should keep things decently chilly Tuesday afternoon.  Precip amounts change a lot from run to run.

There will probably be some scattered snow tomorrow night, Monday night could actually be a bigger deal than tonight.

Deep cold trough is there again early in week two.  This is going to last for a while.

You might get shadowed off of the Olympics with this one.

That's been the story here on the island most of the winter, and the Central Sound in general.  I have see many C S's mention the same.  This finally looks better for this area.  We have had some snow here on a few occasions this winter, so I am not super disappointed.  But if the models as they look now come close to verifying over the next few days, this winter will redeem itself IMO in IMBY.

BTW @snow_wizard--  You have been pretty chilled out this winter.  No pun intended.😂

February 2023 definitely will go down better for Portland and Oregon…but in the end this is a bigtime regional event for this late in the year. Everyone has or will score soon.

It never ceases to surprise me how well you do with snow considering that your location is low elevation and near the coast.

In general I agree.  He has done terrible this winter up until now though.

It's amazing how the temperatures around my area have fallen. The temperatures around my area is down to 30 degrees with a dewpoint of 25. The Troutdale Airport is 32 degrees with a dewpoint of 21. It will be interesting to see what happens when the moisture gets here. I'm thinking it will be here in a hour to hour and a half 🤗❄️

Just jumped back up to 39 here, with 60% humidity. This is weird.

Just mixing of the atmosphere. Winds have been shifting between SSE, N, and SSW. BFI jumped to 43... this could only means we are getting closer.

I'm sorry, I ordered below freezing temperatures and accumulating snow. Can I speak to your manager?
