Blizzard777
Holy s**t, just watched the video of the maneuvers that guy was doing in the plane last night. Absolutely insane, considering he didn't even have a pilot's license (if that's true).I know! I been doing the flight sim thing for over 20 years and the latest gig in the flight sim community is actually starting planes by the book. Everything is spot right on except for the forces you feel and field of vision. So I assume this guy got his experience from that. He demonstrated how forgiving and aircraft of that size can be. Next time your on a 737 perhaps the Captain will come on and say we will be experiencing turbulence and a few other maneuvers to make the flight interesting. Phil
That was a borderline strong El Niño, too. Difference maker was the Greenland block (strongest -NAO on record). By comparison, April-July 2018 has easily run the strongest +NAO on record. That explains essentially all of the variance between 2018 and 2009/10, as far as US temperatures are concerned. Phil
If that f***** vortex keeps persisting through the summer it eventually has to get booted in a good direction at some point.I just hope we avoid an excessively long lag between the inception of these weak solar wind conditions and the move towards more -NAO/less vortex. We had to wait a full year last time before the blocking went bonkers. Either way, the next round of blocking is likely to peak during the early 2020s. Solar/IPWP climo is lining up perfectly for a pretty strong multi-year niña right around that time as well. Phil
Isn’t he predicting the coldest, snowiest winter in the PNW since 1968/69?
