I see that but that 540 line is way north.

If that low becomes as strong as what the NAM is advertising it may absorb the second storm, and then spin over Iowa for awhile.

That’s got to be the oddest track for a storm I’ve ever seen.

 

From SW Missouri, to West central Missouri, to south central Missouri, to north central Missouri, to NE missouri, to SE Iowa, then back to south central Iowa.

Gary Lezak thinks Iowa and Nebraska are good for a snowstorm this weekend. We shall see, here was his take on the two waves. 

 

SATURDAY: The first storm will track to the north and the heavier rain will end early in the morning. We may see lingering showers and drizzle all day on the back side with temperatures 35°-40°.  A snowstorm is likely for Nebraska and Iowa. The first storm will play a role in the fate of the second storm.  If the first one becomes to big, it will absorb the second one and we will not have much on Monday from storm system #2.  If the first storm moves along and stays separate from the second one, then Monday will be quite interesting.

Maybe models are having a hard time figuring out whether the two waves are gonna combine or not? I would say go with the Euro; see if it holds firm from last nights run.

The GFS & NAM do seem to be trending towards more snow for whoever can get in the cold sector.

Well there is some agreement northern Nebraska and Iowa going to get blasted but I am liking the eastern Nebraska trend

Euro takes it right to south central Iowa. No idea on the thermals or temps, but I’m assuming it gives western Iowa a nice snow storm.

Man the Euro is a text book track for heavy snow in our area. Just hope the thermals play ball! If someone can post the snow map when you get a chance that would be great!
