Perturbed Member
It's been happening for eons though. It stings more now, maybe the WA cascades are in decent shape but the OR cascades snow pack is really sad. 50F+ sunny weather is the last thing it needs. Front Ranger
December was about equally warm in the West as January, if not warmer most places. FWIW. Quote A forum for the end of the world.
BLI snowman
It looks pleasant, but 50s in the mountains in January is sacrilege. Spring is a weird, fractured season for the Cascades in that it typically happens to start early on January 1 and then ends late around mid June. With a 59 (sometimes 60) day break between February 1 and March 31.

Phil
December was about equally warm in the West as January, if not warmer most places. FWIW.Eh, depends what part of the “West” you’re talking about. In the PNW, warmest anomalies of the winter occurred in January (unless late Feb/early Mar spikes warmer). January also has 5 days left to run. 1 Quote Live Weather Cam: https://www.youtube.com/live/KxlIo8-KVpc?si=xKLCFYWbZieAfyh6 PWS Wunderground https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KMDBETHE62 PWS CWOP/NOAA: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=F3819&hours=
