Chris Christie doing what he does best during a town hall. Really hope he forces other candidates to start criticizing Trump more but I'm not holding my breath. Although Nikki Haley did take a slight jab at him today so maybe she's testing the waters a bit.

I really don't get it though. What do they have to lose at taking some shots? His section of the base will never leave him no matter what he does. So why pander to them? Why not build a coalition of the remaining majority of the party that realizes Trump is a loser? The fastest way to do that and distance yourself from everyone else in the crowded field is to start hitting him harder.

It wouldn't even be that difficult. Something like... "Look, I loved his policies and I stood by him through his years in office. I do think certain aspects of our legal system have become politicized and he's been incredibly targeted, including that sham in NY. But whether he is guilty or not doesn't matter. At this point it's all just a distraction - a distraction from what should be our #1 priority: beating Joe Biden. We can't have him focused on all his legal cases while the election passes him by next year. We need someone who is 1000% focused on beating Biden and building our future."

Boom. Done. Pitch Trump's complete unelectability as a danger to winning next year and I think you start seeing the needle move on the upper pack of candidates. Not to mention throwing in the "jeopardized national security" bit here and there when it comes to this case.

Trump is arguably weaker right now than he has ever been. Hit him while he's down. C'MON!!!

I was just reading the comments section on a HAM radio group I follow on FB, and holy hell, I thought I needed to pass out tin foil hats to some of the folks on here.....there are some folks in that group that all the tin foil hats in the world would not be enough.  Crazy .  Like, apparently China has invaded Canada and started all the fires they are dealing with.

I get that HAMs tend to be preppers and all about emergency preparedness but.....wow......

Have a ham license myself (need to stop procrastinating and get a VE7 call now that I live in Canada), and when I’m active I try to avoid that crowd as much as I can. It always surprised me, since it is such a technical hobby (and one that provides such easy access to what people in other parts of the world are thinking, which especially back in the pre-Internet era was significant), yet there is so much anti-intellectualism and provincialism in it.

Heck, there’s a good chance I will toss his campaign some money, not because I agree with him 100%, but just because I believe his campaign is doing a valuable public service for the USA (plus the GOP’s debate rules do have an individual-donor threshold, so every donor that helps fund his campaign helps get him on the debate stage).

I got tuned in to getting it right before Covid hit, then the local HAM club pissed me off, so I have struggled to get engaged. The local club had a test session advertised, but they apparently had 2 different times posted.  Myself and 2-3 others went by the time on the ARRL site, they went by the time on their website which turned out to be 1 hour off. 

When I called the guy he was still in the car on his way home.  We figured out the time discrepancy, but his response was pretty much "oh-well" and told me that they would be testing again in 3 months.  That was all in late January 2020.

Covid hit, and there wasn't a way to test for a while.  I finally got my tech and general online in 2021 through a group in Alasak, but have not made a QSO yet unfortunately.  I monitor the local repeaters but never pick up on any traffic.  The local nets don't work well with my schedule.  I need to figure out when the next field day is and go to it. 

And yeah, it is pretty surprising the intellect and mindset of the folks involved in the hobby.

This is not a solution. But due to the Trump indictment and the election, this is totally off the radar……

I listened to an expert on the Constitution this morning, a legal professor,  I can’t recall his name, but it boiled down to there is nothing in the Constitution to prevent someone of legal age and citizenship from running and serving as President.  
They can run from prison. 

Trump can plow on unimpeded. 
Be it a conviction and/or having served prison time, they can serve as US President.  Of course the tricky part is running for office from your cell.  But Biden did do so from his “bunker” during Covid.  
What tha heck!  Go for it!

The thing is that Trump didn't commit any crime like the mainstream media is trying to imply. Not like Biden who had documents even before he was president. And he had them in unsecured places like his garage, in China Town of DC, and who knows where all. At least at Mar-A-Lago there are secret service guarding the place 24/7. Bedsides the Feds may have put those boxes and docs there as a setup, and who knows what were in them. This is just a total political witch hunt, and actually election interference, because their scientific internal polls are showing Trump as the frontrunner and the uni party is panicking because they know their crimes will be exposed if he's elected! We're officially a communist Banana Republic by arresting a political apponent. It's not just Trump they are after. It's us, he's just standing in their way!

Good points. And I do believe that unelected big money power brokers are assisting this agenda.  
Americans can be fooled but not for long.  And election backlash is coming.  
If they don’t like that then knock off the bs.  
Just get back to building a country with employment opportunities and solid education for the least of us as well as most affluent.  It’s not hard really. You build a strong house from the ground up. 
I saw Biden’s garage ”filing system”. Heaven only knows how egregious his mistakes have been but I hope they’re exposed.  
He, and others like him on both sides of the aisles, are why we need term limits. But let’s clean this one up first.

Looks like violent crime rates are starting to tumble. This is not a surprise. When the pandemic (and associated lockdowns) began, I recall reading a piece by a criminologist predicting that one of the costs of anti-pandemic measures would be a spike in crime. Only to be expected that the spike would end once the cause was removed.
