Perturbed Member
There should be some crazy water to snow ratios around Portland. Obviously a big plus for better accumulations. Yeah I usually do pretty well in these east wind events since I'm on the west end, far enough to get the benefits but without it getting out of hand. So far though the east winds have been strong here too, gusting close to 40 earlier and I have a dp of 12F and down to 31F. Should be the first real cold snowfall I'll have here, all other brushes with snow have been a bit above freezing and wet stuff. Pretty much no accumulations on roads. If I can get a half decent precip rate sometime tonight I should be able to maybe get something.

Cloud
When I got home and felt that ice cold wind blowing I had renewed awe for this month. It has been amazing in so many ways. I could get used to this!It is an awesome month and a rare one for sure. Basically nearly the entire month is below average. SEA is guaranteed to tie the month record with 17 below subfreezing nighttime lows at this point that was set in 1989.

Lars43
NWS just upped the snow totals to 2-4 inches here in Eugene. Already snowing pretty hard. Wondering if get more than that, seems very possible. The snow started about four hours earlier than expected. Coming down hard for the last two hours, I am guessing (hoping) we get more than the 2-4". Dropped to 32 about an hour ago.

Blizzard777
Just an amazing day up here! NE wind very evident with the awesome low dew points! Just sat in a chair outside enjoying the crisp cold air, stars shining and the wind blowing the firs trees ( Treager also lit up ). ! I love this stuff even without the snow but the snow would certainly compliment it. snow_wizard
35/20 here today. Pretty strong offshore wind here which is very unusual. First cross cascade event since January 2017. Currently already down to 27 under cloudy skies and an occasional flake. Horse Creek to my east at 3400' is down to 14. Got some Central Oregon cold spilling over the peaks tonight. This goes to show how sustaining a cold 500mb pattern is so beneficial. The terrain can be overcome! Quote Death To Warm Anomalies!
