TT-SEA
You just want your snow to melt fast. If you didn’t have snow on the ground you wouldn’t care about warm rain. Maybe... but it also helps move the spring progression along even after the snow melts. I crave it when it goes missing... but only want it for short periods. I was craving some 60-degree dewpoint heavy rain last August too. Jesse
Really interesting drive out to the east side today. Stopped first at Starvation Creek state park, there was 6-8" of snow, and significant ice on Starvation Creek falls. Continuing eastward there was about a 8-12" of snow on the ground in the The Dalles, with bright sunshine and temps in the mid-20s. Headed south to Dufur after that where there was a foot+ of snow and early afternoon temps in the low 20s. Did a snow hike to the hill above the town then continued south through Maupin and up to Criterion Summit, where it was just 13 degrees around 3pm. At this point we were far enough south that we were getting into the stratus layer, so the only mountain visible from there was Adams. We turned back north and went to White River Falls state park, where there was significant ice on the falls and the White River itself. From there we took highway 216 up through Pine Grove and eventually to highway 26 near the Warm Springs Reservation Boundary. Headed over Hood and caught a great sunset from Government Camp, where it was in the low teens. A few pictures to come.
