DEN hit -5 this morning, their coldest temp of the season, beating out the -2 they saw on 11/27.

-1 in my backyard, also coldest of the season.

Looks like another decent snowstorm on tap for Friday.

Nice!

Looking like 12-20" of snowfall here over the next 36 hours. This is a pretty warm storm so kind of tough to nail down snow totals since there might not be a lot of daytime accumulations but we'll see. Either way, our plow and snowblower is going to be very busy the next few days to keep our driveway accessible.

More snow to come on Saturday then possibly some Arctic air beginning early next week along with more snow.

Strong and warned snow squall just moved through here this morning with near whiteout conditions. Dropped about 3" of snowfall in about 40min. Still snowing pretty heavily with blowing snow continuing. Expecting a break later this morning into early afternoon before the actual cold front moves through tonight with 2-4" of snowfall expected.

Bozeman MSU is reporting 17.4" of snowfall in just the first 7 days of the month. Record for the month is 29.2" set just last year. They should easily move into the top ten snowiest Feb by tomorrow.

Bozeman Airport in Belgrade has already seen 15.4" of snowfall moving into second on the all-time snowiest February...on the 7th! Record is 19.0" from 2019 as well. February comes through again!

POR goes back to 1941 at BZN. Airport sits at the low point of the valley at 4,400ft and sits in a really dry spot with a ton of shadowing throughout the year.

BZN only averages 45" of snowfall yearly verses 90" in Bozeman. Amazing the difference 10 miles can make.

Snow base is up to 14". Currently 14F after a low of 3F.

Another 2-4" expected here tonight. Under our third WWA in four days...don't think I've ever seen that before. Plus the WSW a week ago.

DEN is running a -4.3 for February, and it would be much colder except for the two very warm days to start the month. As it is, looks to remain below normal for this whole week - will probably end up being one of the coldest first half of Februaries in awhile.

3" more this morning. About 10" now on the ground at my house, probably 16-18" at the office in Boulder.

With 15" this month, it's already my third snowiest February on record, after 2015 and 2012.

Wow I was there less than two weeks ago and there was hardly anything.

Yeah, it's been a crazy pattern change. Every day except one since the 2nd has been well below normal, and that will continue for a couple more days.

Under yet another WWA for 1-3" more tonight.

2" last night. DEN actually beat me for once with 5". Looks like we'll get a break from the snow for a few days, and then another significant storm appears likely for early next week.

I've seen plenty of more impressive single snowfalls, but the frequency of small to moderate snowfalls over the past 10 days has been unmatched since I've lived here. 5 separate storms for a total of 17", with about a foot on the ground.

Another Snow Squall Warning this morning. Second one of the week! These snow squalls never get old, just complete whiteout conditions with strong winds and incredibly heavy snowfall.

Winds were howling all night with temps hovering right around freezing so we now have some massive drifts out there.

Picked up 3" of snowfall last night with the very strong cold front. Also had some 50+ mph wind gusts. Just measured an average snow base of 14" around the yard.

Snow returns around noon today lasting through tomorrow morning. Expecting another 2-4". Should be enough to set new all-time February snowfall records at the airport and at MSU.

Picked up another 3" yesterday and early this morning. Up to 41" of snowfall on the month now.

Ski resort in town reporting 16" of snowfall in just the past 24 hours as well. February has been very good to us in what is normally our driest month of the year.

29.7" of snowfall this month in Bozeman becoming the snowiest February on record breaking last years record of 29.2".

BZN has also broken their snowiest February record from last year with 20.4" of snowfall.

February has been surprisingly wet in this area these last two years. Really saved our winter this year.

Anomalous snow in a snowy area?   Always seem to be setting snowfall records there.    Creative new stats every winter.   Have you ever considered that maybe its just always snowing there and the February totals are perfectly normal.    ;)

We get it Tim. North Bend has been wetter than average. We do not have to have this argument every single day. Especially not in the mountain west thread which I just realized I'm in.

I know this is a Tim'tastic post but February is normally our driest month of the year so it is very markable that the last two years have seen record snowfall. Almost like the climate is changing...

I agree... it is impressive.

Sort of feels like record precip periods are becoming more common here as well... which is line with predictions of a warming climate.   Also seems record dry periods are becoming more common... particularly in the warm season.

Although it could be a temporary climate regime... too early to say for sure.

Nice.   It was in reference to another snowfall record in a snowy place like Bozeman... and those records happening more frequently lately.  Similarities to the Cascade foothills and Olympics in WA with rain.   And maybe related to the same climate regime change actually.    It is interesting even if its not happening in Oregon.

The big rain/flooding event here this month was from February 5-7... and Bozeman had their big snow event from February 6-8.

We had a pretty intense system a week ago with an inch of rain. PWAT values were at record levels for this time of year.
