PNW April 2023 Weather Discussion

12Z EPS shows the same retrogression as the ECMWF by day 9 and 10... but then goes back to some sort of trough over the PNW a little later.

I hope you are banned.

I did nothing wrong.   Phil jokingly wished for death... worth checking if everything is OK.

Pretty clear it was mockery. Which is fine. We’ve all joked about some edgy things here sometimes. I definitely have. But for the love of god just own up to it.

It was sort of a joking response to Phil joking about wishing for death and calling it a blessing.   But not entirely.   I honestly do worry about Phil and would be here for him.   Do you not remember all of things he has told us?

Not our typical one strike wonder thunderstorm. Always impressive what a spring PSCZ can do with little surface heating.

Almost looks like a hook echo on the south side of the c-zone heading for your area.

Would that end up having any effect on the climate? I’m assuming it won’t.

Theoretically it could affect the polar stratosphere and weather patterns/blocking.

Let’s hope so. That looks like a horrible pattern.

Actually that looks very short lived (as modeled). Verbatim it’s a classic discontinuous retrogression often seen w/ phase 8/1/2 transitions.

Wow is right.   You are such a tool.

It was not a joke.   Phil has confided in us in the past about this issue.   And he wished for an extinction event which would mean his death (and all of us) and said it would be a blessing so it does beg the question if everything is OK.

Side note... I also lost a cousin to suicide.   Not that it matters to the discussion here.

Hold on, I was joking about the Yellowstone thing. I thought your comment was likewise tongue in cheek.

I didn’t think it would be taken literally. No, I’m not suicidal. 🙂

It was a joking response to your death wish.   But not entirely because I always worry about you.  👍

And that is no joke.   Sort of like family here.

I'm just glad if we fail to have our hottest summer ever for the 3rd year in a row, and if we can avoid this winter completely sucking, we will be able to blame some volcano for our good fortune.

The first summers after volcanic eruptions are usually warm... its the next summer that is cold.
