The Map I saw showed the naked eye line down to the northern 3rd of California. Also the newest news on X is that it is stronger than they thought once it reached the first detection satellite. Either way a 3 minute walk down to the lake with a beer in hand is always a good thing:-)
60 degrees at home now with a low of 30, on pace for a high in the mid upper 70s, maybe even 80. Stopping in Redmond currently for some brunch where it is in the mid 60s. Going to be great flying weather from Portland to anchorage this afternoon!
Unfortunately it's looking like I don't have a chance of seeing the aurora tonight....
FWIW, some kind of secondary ridge would also be expended based on the seasonal response to the WPAC MJO. The only reason I think it’ll be farther N/W than this is because of residual niño elements (STJ/high AAM belt) still present in the system.
But the match is still good.
