educatorjen
It's snowing here in The Millard area of Omaha.... But it's taking forever to start covering.
Geos
The radar sure looks good coming out of eastern Nebraska. I hope you guys are getting good ratios to make up for the snow lost to the dry air. Some of these models are laughable - like this one!  Southern Iowa looks to do pretty well this afternoon, just by reading the radar. gabel23
Round 1 dropped 2" in my area. That sounds about right, York and Geneva received 2-2.5". Hoping round 2 drops another 2" and I will be real happy! Not a very organized storm but anytime we get snow in November I'll take it! Hope this is a sign of things to come this winter.
NEJeremy
What a joke so far! Probably not even 1/2" and it's pretty much done. Didn't even come down hard enough to stick on the roads. Mainly pixie dust. We'll see what happens with this supposed 2nd wave. Not sure why any model is showing that much snow...
Geos
The southern half of Iowa looks the best area to see the heaviest accumulation. Seems the models are going to bust on the position of the heaviest accumulations. Quote Mercer Island, 350 ft 2021-2022: 11.6", 02/21 2020-2021: 15.6" 2019-2020: ~10" 2018-2019 winter snowfall total: 29.5" 2017-2018: 9.0", 2016-2017: 14.0"

For the most part our ground is completely covered, and this round two that will swing thru maybe will drop 1-2" additional. Must have really died out as it moved off to my east. Usually I receive the same amount as Omaha does.

Geos
Nice pictures Gabel! I hope to awake to something like that tomorrow morning. They are oak trees, that neighbor has two of them and my neighbor to the south, which would be to the left by the swing set, also has a big oak tree. Needless to say I still will have to find time to rake those leaves up when they all finally fall off!
Tom
Looks like winter in your back yard Gabel! Â Hoping our area can score something similar tonight. Â Gauging at the radar, the heaviest band of snow over N MO/S IA is headed right for N IL. Â Might cash in a 1" or so...this system ended up being a nowcast event which is usually the case with these open wave systems. Â Looks like the heavier precip is south of where the models took them over the last 2 days.

Enjoy it guys! I wouldn't be too worried. I am sure once there is a major winter storm it will miss us to the south like it always does. Don't feel bad about missing a 1-3 event in November. Geos
Snow only 60 miles away or so now. Atmosphere seemed to saturate rather quickly over the Rock River Valley. Put up the Christmas lights that are the most challenge today. If there is snow on the roof next weekend, then I can still put up the rest without climbing up there. Edit: Reports of snow coming down in the western suburbs now.
