I think the idea of the LRC has value but I still maintain that too many on here take it much too literally. I think it sort of works because seasonal forcing evolves slowly and the ~40-50 day cycle is basically the MJO. In years where the background forcing is stable you can get several "cycles" a winter this way. But years like this year I don't think it works as well. There are some major changes going on as ENSO collapses, strat warm effects, etc. I do not believe the LRC has any serious utility when major players do change.

Man. This would be a perfect low track for a Puget Sound snowstorm on Christmas Eve if there were any semblance of cold air around. 984mb low tracking from the SSW and staying South of Olympia. What a waste that would be.

Essentially considered fife, puyallup sumner etc. the low lying river valleys of pierce county that seem to be the absolute worst for snow in western Washington. My old location in Tacoma just a few miles west at 300’ routinely outperformed them. Sometimes by more than double.

Lucky for me I’m at an elevation of 300 feet! My neighbors place is at 299 feet ……Looosers !!!
