I love looking at the details in these old photos. I think these pics were taken on different days. In the top pic there are cars driving with snow on the roof and hood indicating that it had snowed the night before. In the bottom pic its more hazy and the cars are all clean. But in both pics its cold enough to prevent any melting at all on the roads.
Step back from your echo chamber. Unemployment is at 3.8% and there has been steady job growth for the last 4 years. You act like we are in the great depression. I work for a large national company and we can't find people to hire right now. You believe what you want to believe. Biden doesn't know what's going on and he is basically checked out but its not nearly as bad as you pretend. And in our highly polarized political environment, the Republicans don't actually want improvement at the border yet because they need to campaign on it. There is no one on either side that thinks that situation is tenable but long gone are the days when both sides could work together on an issue.
That being said... it would have been so nice if the Republicans could have put up a sane, normal candidate because it should be so easy to get a conservative elected this time around. But all the normal candidates were rejected in favor of lunacy. Looking forward to 2028 because we finally have to start over on both sides.
I watched my dad hit a wall at 84 and then he just spiraled downhill. He went from being sharp as a tack and active and going on cruises and hiking all over the place to being frail and completely lost mentally in a matter of 6 months. But his parents died in their mid 70s so he out-lived them by a decade. My mom is 84 now and she hiked the Whatcom Falls trail by herself yesterday and sent me pics. Her side of the family has incredible longevity with several of her aunts and uncles making it to 100.
Overnight lows across the county were mainly in the low 50's with East Nantmeal the chilly spot at 49.8 degrees. There was a large range in rain totals from last evening. Here in East Nantmeal we picked up 0.37" of rain . Some other totals across the county included Marshallton 0.67" / Warwick 0.61"/ Chester Springs 0.13" / Atgen 0.21" / Glenmoore 0.23" / Longwood Gardens 0.14" and West Chester 0.46".
A great stretch of weather ahead through at least the next 5 days with our next rain chances not till Tuesday. Temps will be running below normal the next couple days before warming to near normal by Saturday.

I like 1988-89 as the analog year. I just don't think we get to -2.1C depths of that year. The 1988 El Nino dissipated much earlier than this year. The extra 3 months allowed the 1988-89 La Nina to develop into the strongest one (along with 1973-74). I think it peaks in the -1.4 to -1.5C range between ASO 2024 and NDJ 2024-25. Also keep in mind the RONI is running -0.67 ahead of the ONI, so even a peak of -1.5C on the ONI might be enough to break the record RONI of 1973-74 and 1988-89.
