Hard to compare yet as we don't know the intensity of the low level cold air mass yet, the aggressiveness.

Intensity, not density, lol.

It's super-cute when you try to sound like you have any idea whatsoever of what's going on above our heads.

Not looking like turf anymore.

Nope. I have some work to do in the spring. Funny with 2008/09 with how much winter we had...my yard was in great shape due to the snow cover. Zero turf loss.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

I think you and the other guy may be the same person. Wouldn't shock me at all.

They aren't, I know him personally and I can verify they are different people.

Keep that northward trend going... SEA-BLI needs to be the focal point. No one outside of that region has any room to complain at this point

I think it will and you are quite correct!

Not the event at the very beginning of the month. That was rain to snow in Tacoma.

12-1-05?

That was still pretty typical borderline overrunning stuff.  Somewhat chilly air mass, a little wet bulb help and some steady north side precip.  This setup is a lot more complicated for those looking for big time accumulations.

It was in the upper 30's on Bainbridge that morning with DP's around freezing and ended up snowing 5" that afternoon.

I was thinking about that event.

It does seems very similar.

8 inches in Bonney Lake with that one if I remember correctly.

Guys, it's just snow. It falls, it melts, it sometimes melts and freezes. Anyway you look at it, it's still just snow.

Comin from the guy that is sick of it this year.

Seeing patches of dirt and grass around town today for the first time in over two months. My backyard still has 8-16" depending on where I've shoveled or just let it go.

I have a buddy who is a State Trooper, and he stopped by my house a couple of hours ago and said pretty much all of Northern Whatcom County is a mess. He said most places Lynden North, then East of Smith Road got about 4-7" last night, up to 1" of ice overnight then it's been dumping snow all day. He said they've responded to 22 accidents (doesn't include what the County and City guys have responded to). He said there are tons of power outages and the winds have really kicked up up there.

He said there were lots of trees down and Hwy 9 and one other road (may have been Smith) were closed with trees across them.

Meanwhile in Bellingham....still just freezing rain.

NWS discussion not illuminating

I'm stunned they don't have a winter storm watch up. Maybe they're waiting for the 0z. I know they've been burned this winter, but now they run the risk of getting burned the other way.

Yuck.

I've had some pretty bad ice storms here and they suck. Wind with ice loaded trees could be a real disaster.

I will make a definitive forecast after the 00z runs. People think I am a homer but haven't earned my employees yet of any coming storm, so that should preview my thoughts. It's been real guys.

They are playing it very conservative. That's fine, more people to surprise.

Not real wise though. People could go out and get stranded if they are only expecting 2 inches and we get 8.

I wasn't talking about what the 18z spits out. I was talking about the accuracy of what the 18z spits out.

I think we can all agree the 18z is garbage most of the time.
