Nice little gust every 10 minutes or so but really seems to be calming down overall

It's a non-storm so far for the Puget Sound region in terms of wind.  It's nothing we haven't seen already this year for sure.  The positive is, less storm damage and less people without power.  So that's a positive.

We have reached peak wind storm hours till the early morning hours.

Still pretty tame out there.  Strongest winds are still from earlier hours.  Still the strongest gust in the puget Sound I see is a 44 at Tacoma Narrows.  There was a 41 at SeaTac.

Some gusty winds in the foothills.  The strongest gust I can find north of Seattle is Edmonds at 29.  Skagit County which is open to the harsh winds of the Strait saw a gust of 39 near the PACCAR research and training facility.  Ault Field on Whidbey had a gust of 41. Nothing else hit even 20mph yet north of Anacortes.

Away from the Sound, Dungeness Spit had a 41mph gust and Port Angeles 36.

If you want some REAL wind gusts, all that is happening east of the Cascades!  We got a 50mph gust in the Klickitat Valley, a 55 near Kennewick, a 49 in Walla Walla, and a 73 on Pikes Peak near Walla Walla.  That last one is kinda cheating because it's a mountain peak though.  But since I am talking about mountain peaks, there was a 72 in Yakima County on Sedge Ridge.

Both the Narrows and SEA officially clocked 55mph.

Absolute dumpage here currently with a light breeze

I had that about ten minutes ago.  It just dumped!  You can kind of see it on the radar for us both!  A very heavy band just sort of appeared.  Stay dry. :)  That red area also dumped/is dumping on poor ole' @MossMan

Winds are pretty weak here. But not far away from SEA and it’s quite stronger.

The hills are likely sheltering you. My dad lived in Rainier Beach during the Inauguration Day storm and I lived in Mukilteo. He never lost power. I was out for almost two weeks.

Been dumping out there! Up to 0.71” of rain now. Hasn’t been too windy at my place it seems but I’ve had a few power flickers.

Power Outage numbers....

OREGON - 125,000

The majority of the outages are in NW Oregon, with Tillamook and Clatsop County taking the brunt of the losses.  Portland metro has many outages as well.  It has gone up from the 117,000 a few hours ago.   The outages carry over into Clark County on the Washington side.

WASHINGTON

Not many outages reported yet, but the majority seem to be from Thurston County, Pierce County, and Kitsap County.  There is also a decent amount in King County too.

Snohomish PUD is looking pretty good right now as is Skagit and Whatcom Counties.  Minimal.

Totally random aside... An 18.4 foot King Tide broke the 1987 record of 17.99 feet in Olympia. Wow!

The GFS actually manages to get us into a bit a chilly trough this weekend with northerly surface pressure gradients.  Might be a crisp weekend.

I think it is more likely GFS not doing well again, but it is interesting. Need to see how GEFS trends.

Could end up be a sneaker cold snap.  Sometimes they just gradually appear out of pretty much nowhere.

Really decent chilly interlude on this GFS run.  The Pacific gets tamed a good little bit.

This GFS run is a great example of how unimpressive of a pattern it takes to get chilly this time of year.  Kind of decent for several days.

The wind storm in Sandy, Oregon was no joke.  We have a property there and our tenants sent these pictures.  Our house might have some minor damage but won't know until tree is removed tomorrow. The neighbor was home when the tree fell on it but was uninjured thankfully.

Sorry to hear that. Could just leave the branches and call it modern art.

The significant damage is to the house next door to ours. It's uninhabitable right now with the roof penetration and broken skylight.  We might have some minor damage to a gutter and maybe roof but don't know until get up there and inspect it.
