Well...I got off easy on the east winds last week, the ice buildup on the trees last week, and now this storm.  I think my good luck has been used up now.

I will say it was very marginal changing the wind advisory to a HWW for the Seattle area on this event.  I think they just got away with it though.

Not sure how it works with geography but this storm is absolutely pounding North Bend.    Power is out here and the roar is insane.    I am sure there will be lots of trees down from this around here.    We didn't even get a breeze with the wind event yesterday.

Lost power once about 15 minutes ago for 2-3 seconds. Rarely lose power here for longer than that during wind storms so will probably be fine here.

I will never forget the Hanukah Eve storm.  The wind just tore through here and pretty much shredded the power grid.  I couldn't believe the roar the wind made that night.  It took three days for the power to come back on and one of the nights without power dropped to 23.

IDK what the models are seeing for the end of the month, but it sure is a strong signal.

Yesterday's thing and this one are both really odd.  Not sure how I ended up getting off so easy on this one.  I had some wind yesterday, but only in the 30s for a short time.

It's a bit windy here, but nothing terrible by any means.

15 hours without power now. The PGE truck just went by looking at the lines, maybe it will come back on in the next hour or two. I agree with Justin, on the steady rain and wind. Really something to behold. 2.11" of rain on the day, 7.88" on the month.

Multiple models show this and all have a similar progression to get us there.

A large part of King County was out for 7-10 days.    We were out 10 days here.

I didn't fully realize how lucky we were on the power coming back from that.

What a storm though!  I was slack jawed watching the trees bend.  Nice to know they can take that much abuse.

Pretty crazy day down here in NE PDX. Power flickering all morning, finally went out around 1:30. About 110k customers out of power as of 5 pm. Drove around and a good chunk of the east side is out of power from about 39th and I-84 out to 122nd and Division. Tons of street lights out, traffic is a mess.

Given the backlog, I’m expecting we’ll be out of power a day or more.

Luckily temps are in the low 40s, so not nearly as bad as last Thursday when we lost power in the east winds. After last years storms we put in a battery backup and so have heat and enough juice to watch some movies with the kids!

We’ve had about 1.2 inches of rain. Not sure about wind since my station isn’t in a great place for wind.

Every once in a while, perhaps every 100yrs or something, we get a series of systems like this when it's cold enough to be snow. It may never happen again, but I like to believe it will. Someday. Hopefully before I die.

It used to happen more often, maybe we are just going through an unluckier period. Or the slight increase in temps have reduced sea ice to the point where arctic air masses aren't as strong, as some have speculated.

It really was crazy today. 2.02” here and 3.44” today + yesterday. My station is in a bad spot for wind too but we saw several gusts at 30, highest I’ve recorded. Ripped the gutters partially off on the south side of the house.

It is odd as I’m not sure what geography is causing a dud here but a huge storm in North Bend. You’d think if anything, Tiger Mtn would block their wind compared to us when it’s coming from the SW. Definitely not complaining though: others can have the wind!

Up to 0.8" on the day and winds are definitely gusty. Nothing crazy, but routinely hitting the low to mid 30s which is usually means it's a decent storm (5-10 times a year).

We have reached peak wind storm hours till the early morning hours.

Still pretty tame out there.  Strongest winds are still from earlier hours.  Still the strongest gust in the puget Sound I see is a 44 at Tacoma Narrows.  There was a 41 at SeaTac.

Some gusty winds in the foothills.  The strongest gust I can find north of Seattle is Edmonds at 29.  Skagit County which is open to the harsh winds of the Strait saw a gust of 39 near the PACCAR research and training facility.  Ault Field on Whidbey had a gust of 41. Nothing else hit even 20mph yet north of Anacortes.

Away from the Sound, Dungeness Spit had a 41mph gust and Port Angeles 36.

If you want some REAL wind gusts, all that is happening east of the Cascades!  We got a 50mph gust in the Klickitat Valley, a 55 near Kennewick, a 49 in Walla Walla, and a 73 on Pikes Peak near Walla Walla.  That last one is kinda cheating because it's a mountain peak though.  But since I am talking about mountain peaks, there was a 72 in Yakima County on Sedge Ridge.
