December Weather In the PNW

Big backdoor blast and 1059mb high sliding towards southern BC

Very modified.

Run the previous run comparisons on tidbits...It's funny, it is like the cold air is retreating north...But it is just comparing the last 3 model runs. Sad.

It was made very clear earlier that people are tired of getting blasted through the back door.

Sooo tired of being blasted from the back...just not the same!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Bannon/Moore were told to go f*ck themselves... not a totally bad night.

But very disappointing in the models.   Watch... the ECMWF will come in with an epic run and take the lead.  :)

Bannon would have been smart to dump Moore. Even if Moore had pulled it out it would have still be a net loss. The GOP was probably better off losing a seat they can win back in a future cycle then dealing with Roy Moore for years to come.

Glad I didn’t tell my wife...she’s been cold burned by me too many times.

I told my wife at dinner our Xmas weekend travel plans were going to result in a Donner party-esque scenario. February 1989 with low sun angles! (She had absolutely no recollection of February 1989)

The season of the models flip/flopping is here. Will this run give us the goodies? or taketh away? You just never know. It's often a back and forth game which can be very agonizing. We usually see typical flopping than flipping, or a combination of flopping, flipping compared to flippity, floppy, flopping, and definitely it's far more often to see flop, flopping, floppity flips, floppity, flopping where the cold air slides east than anything at all. Ultimately I want to see less flopping, flipping, floppity, flopping, than just straight up floppy, flopped, flopping. In 2008 we saw I believe flipping, flippity, flipping, flips, flippered, flippety consistently with maybe 1 or 2 runs featuring a mix of flip, flippity, floppity flops, then reverting back to pure flip, flippity, flipping which ended up just magical for all of us. In a nutshell. Yeah. Consistency, continuity, and marked trends is the name of the game.

Yep... this election was going to be a win/win for Democrats and a lose/lose for the GOP.

It was a short term loss for the GOP but probably a long term win.

Bannon should be weakened though.

I am probably to blame here too.

I made a grand announcement about severe cold and snow for the week of Christmas at the dinner table tonight.   My bad.

The biggest loser is Al Franken.

No kidding. I almost felt bad for him. Talk about getting thrown under the bus...

Lol, less than an hour ago people were singing Phil’s praises. What if he is wrong now?

Wouldn't change the fact that he has done pretty well for our area since the summer.

Plus it's just one run. Just like the 18z was one run. No reason to fly off the handle for either, the underlying trend of blocking shifting offshore is still there.

00z GEFS Day 4 - Possible good news. The ridge over us is quite a bit weaker than on the Op run. We'll have to see how days 5-8 unfold. Also, stick to weather. This politics crap and squabbling is annoying.
