Word cannot describe how much I despise and loathe this climate.  You wait the whole f***** winter to get a good pattern and when it comes there's  high chance it will **** you in the *** when it comes.  I can't get away from this god forsaken place soon enough.

Pretty disastrous GFS run for Seattle. One legit snow chance and that's it in spite of all the 150 blocking. So much for Fraser river blasts and 150 ridges being good for this area. Now it's not even looking like it will get that cold tonight. What a turd this mess has turned into.

Careful I was chastised by Jesse earlier for sharing my emotions.

Sorry man, I can see how passionate you are about this and you put a lot of effort into your posts and research.  I hope you can eventually get to a place where you get regular snow.

Sorry man. It’s been a rough stretch for your area in particular. Nothing is set in stone just yet. I’m also liking your guys’ chances for something this weekend.

Based on the RGEM, Covington looks like it gets about an inch. Who knows, maybe the moisture makes it further north and you get 2 inches or so.

I've gone through this too many years.  I have earned the right to melt down from time to time.  One thing I'm totally serious about though is I am sick of this climate.  I can't state it strongly enough.

Hard to believe some models were spitting out the possibility of high teens for tonight just a few days ago. PDX is having trouble even falling below freezing.

Clouds. I never saw any of the EURO guidance below 21-22 for tonight.

Wasn't it someone on here that said the UKmet normally resembles the Euro and that you can sometimes guess what the Euro will show based on what the UKmet shows?

Maybe I'm just imagining things but I swear that's been a topic before. I guess we'll find out in 40 minutes.

They very often resemble each other, IMO. The euro followed it a couple times leading up to the snow the other day. Not always though, obviously.

The lows sure are unimpressive. Heck could see lows tomorrow evening when we are wet bulbing under heavier precip down to 29/30?

True, but our climate's incessant tendency to be mucky and wet should actually work in our favor this time. Would be nice to see things clear out one of these nights but I'll take the snow.

Plus I feel decent about a pretty cold high here tomorrow. Precip looks to move in just after 10am, pretty favorable for a mid 30s cap.

Some impressive temps in E. Oregon. A lot of the high mountain valleys like Meacham and Ukiah are already below 0 with single digits showing up in the Wallowa, Baker, and upper John Day valleys.

At this point in my life I have way to much going on to relocate because of the weather. I enjoy living where I do, and in some way the Silverton area will always be my home in one way or another. Climate doesn't play a huge role in that, though I remember what the weather was like at every stage in my life. The cold of December 1990, the damp of spring playing baseball, an Oklahoma blizzard, a March snow on the coast of Oregon. So it is a part of me, I associate the weather with my memories. Always there, ever present in my mind. But when I moved back here in 2010, toward the end of August and I watched the sun set, and the cool damp of a late summer evening in the Willamette Valley crept up from the ground below, its soft tendrils filling my nostrils with the sweet smell of damp, fresh cut hay grass. In that moment I knew I was home, it was if I had never left and my sojourn away was but a dream. And I knew no matter where I go, I know where home is.
