Jesse
Not to say PDX hasn't seen an increase in UHI recently because they have, but their afternoon temps this month don't seem unusual compared to Troutdale.Maybe. It could be that there have been a handful of repeating patterns the last few weeks that have specifically favored warmth over the east metro area while areas to the immediate north, west and south have all been cooler. This was definitely true on 5/3 and 4/26.

I can watch it happening in real time overhead as the front begins to approach and destabilize the atmosphere. Phil
No, those are cumulus humilis, or maybe cumulus mediocris at best. Cumulus congestus has a much more prolific vertical component. 1 Quote Live Weather Cam: https://www.youtube.com/live/KxlIo8-KVpc?si=xKLCFYWbZieAfyh6 PWS Wunderground https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KMDBETHE62 PWS CWOP/NOAA: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=F3819&hours=
