That post was in reference to the evolution of the low frequency background state into the first half of July, when tropical forcing looks neutral. There doesn’t appear to be a background state that would favor ridging (in the longer term) until the fall, at least. The warm period in mid/late July is intraseasonal. Should last a few weeks and be done. Our old house was too close to Smokey Point...the lake is too far away for the druggie homeless to travel...plus it’s all up hill...they would have heart attacks trying to ride their stolen bikes up there.
