January 2019 Weather in the Pacific Northwest

Not even old enough, so that's not going to work out just yet.

Are you interested in a career in meteorology? Or testing instruments? Seriously, it sounds like Mt. Washington, NH would be a dream place for. Wind lover like you. Even if just an internship. If you have that much of a passion for wind storms and weather, maybe you should seriously pursue it. https://www.mountwashington.org/research-and-product-testing/

EURO pulling the ole "Switch-eroo" now giving us a stronger solution with the low Sunday and a wind storm?

Surface map on the 00Z ECMWF for Sunday afternoon looks almost exactly the same as its 12Z run.

Seriously considering it! Either that or a career as a forensic psychologist.

Much cooler 850s. Low develops weaker and later.

I was just looking at surface details.   But the high temps are slightly warmer on the 00Z run for Sunday... although still chilly.    12Z run had 41 at SEA and 00Z run has 42.     Snow levels will probably be between 1,500 - 2,000 feet.

Both sound fascinating. I hope you are able to pursue one of these. Dont wait until you are too old to pursue these dreams.

Thank you, I'll try my very best to pursue something at the very least as soon as I can.

Also, for some reason I can't like your post because I've reached my quota of positive votes, apparently. Didn't even know that was a thing!

There is an outlier on the 00z GFS ensembles that hits -13.2C at PDX towards the end of the run.

Went up to Pittock Mansion last night to stare at the city and try and make sense of things. It was very windy up there and on the windward side of the hill it actually felt pretty mild but on the other side it was calm and the ground was frozen. This was at 1:30am.

High model volatility remains Days 2-5.

Is the EURO radically different?
