Not so much a monopoly as a heavily leveraged position. Yes we’re all for free speech but when an opposing side can not respond equally the dialog is no longer balanced.
We need equal balanced dialogues.

I am sure you have heard of talk radio.  That is heavily right wing biased.

Yes, yes, but aside from the largest news network, almost every talk station on AM, X (formerly Twitter), and a Senate and Electoral College that favor rural, right-wing areas (to the point that twice in the last 25 years, a conservative president took office despite getting less votes than his opponent), the right is totally marginalized in the USA and has no voice whatsoever!

It's called clown range for a reason.

IDK.  Suburban parents are not fond of far left policies. Mom and Dads still want to send their kids to balanced school programs, without a political agenda.  Private schools are popular today for this reason.
I'm all for choice in education. I wish I had gone to a better high school regardless of its background.  I wanted to be better prepared.

This is how the Democrats lost their grip on Education

NPR seems to hold its own.  Massive audience.  Its sister station, PBS, is a mainstay in my house.
As I’ve grown older I just don’t have time to dedicate to a lot of news programming and I get tired of the same old talking heads.  (And listening to elected officials is just clown time.)

Anyone want to put odds on Trump firings his lawyers between now and Monday?  Classic last minute delay tactic, and based on how his other appeals in the NY election interference case has gone, I'm guessing the judge will tell him to pound sand.

Do these investors think there's any chance for this company when Trump is dead??  If only it wasn't so expensive to short it...

More hate-watching for our favorite troll:

Outstanding interview.

I loved the back and forth with Jon's points about the U.S. being total hypocrites about our stated goals and framed arguments for our actions, and David's simple response is "And so we've got to make a really hard and bad choice, which is, do we want to be the one trying to-- to fill that void with our technology and our principles, understanding that we violate them all the time? Or do we want to let an authoritarian regime go fill that space, which we know how that's going to look?

A simple yet incredibly hard to refute response.

We are the most benevolent imperialist power.  We f*ck up a lot of stuff around the world, but do you want them to fix things or us? 😆

The other interesting point that is pretty obvious is that China will throw as much as it can into catching up to TSMC, whether it is by ingenuity or theft, and as soon as they are, Taiwan is theirs.  Will the U.S. go to war over that?  Dunno.

There's no going back to fix our mistakes, and competition is really heating up around the world.  The next few decades are going to be very interesting.

Ran across this tidbit…

With the $165 Billion we gave to Ukraine, we could have built six border walls to stop illegal immigrants from pouring across our southern border…..

Imagine a secure country that knows who is entering their nation.  Thats all we want. Weed out the criminals, drug dealers and terrorists. It’s not rocket science.

I caught part of an interview with Gavin Newsom. “California Slick” himself.  Honestly, Oh Gawd! That smile is as big and all encompassing as any catfish in the Lake Texoma!
Just stick a hook in it already!!! 🐟🐟🐟

Way too slick, too forced, too practiced.  He’s right out of a Stanley Kubrick film, had he made a futuristic political farce.

Honestly, Gav missed his calling as a Carnival Barker!   🎩

“Dood” gives me the creeps   🤡🤡🤡

Meanwhile, Mamuka and Aleko get it on !!!
Now that’s political  commitment!

I would probably vote for Joe Biden in a nursing home not knowing his own name over a second-term lunatic on a vendetta tour.  Listening to Trump makes my ears bleed.   His buffoonery is a total insult to literally everyone's intelligence.  And not for any political reasons.

If you could roll back the clock 10 years and listen to any of his insane rallies over the last few weeks and then be told you would be 100% supporting him in 2024 one would have to assume you had a stroke.

From the way the war in Ukraine has gone it doesn't look like that $165bn in aid has done much good either.

You advocate a ban because I have an opinion you disagree with? This post is strictly an opinion shared with half my fellow Americans. Instead of dispute this assertion you scream BAN BAN BAN. I would rather hear how I am wrong. Tell me what substantive steps President Biden has taken to help working people. How are the lives of working Americans better now than they were during the Trump administration? Is our purchasing power stronger? Is it easier to buy a home? Are interest rates lower? Is food more affordable? Is gas and energy cheaper? Are our streets safer?

You advocate a ban because I have an opinion you disagree with? This post is strictly an opinion shared with half my fellow Americans.

All you do is troll and lie to "prove" some point

Doesn't matter what post i quote.  It's all terrible

Let me reiterate.

Snarky, we are in the marketplace of ideas. Please share. Please tell us about the rich tapestry of love experienced in the CHOP zone in 2020. Enlighten us on the splendid benefits of an open border. Inform us on how inflation actually benefits the middle class.

If you took the time to engage in constructive dialogue you would see our intersectionality. I am a committed environmentalist, support health care for all, dedicated antiracist, am a fierce ally of the LGB community, and oppose large corporations on principle.
