All I wanted was an inch to maybe give me a late start for school. What a letdown.

Seems, judging by obs that precip is becoming more spotty, though the coastal reporting stations are receiving precip again...Hard to say flying blind.

Fair point, yeah seems the cold and the moisture never line up exactly as we need, too many ways for these things to screw up. I'm always skeptical of these BC slider low snow setups, seems we never end up with quite enough precip, have a southerly breeze until the low ends up passing to the south, etc. Too many moving parts.

Nothing like an overrunning event with a juicy low out of the south and a frigid Columbia basin.

Gotta appreciate them when they come. The Sunday night event last February wasn’t a blockbuster but it was pretty exceptional for us. An actually windshift line with focused precip. January 2007 kinda qualified too but I thought that was more happenstance than something actually frontal.

Looks like some good stuff streaming north now

When I looked about a half hour ago it was petering out and now...BOOM!  Snow is picking up nicely here.

Well that last band dropped about 1.5 inches here and looked to pickup intensity as it went north so I bet a lot of places are at least fully coated now.

Looks like a little break with possibly another band developing south of I-90 moving NNW.

I really like the Euro loks for late this week and the weekend.  A few inches of dry snow falls over a couple of days, then a blast, then cold and clear weather.  Pretty hard to beat.

The change in trajectory is really helping out places further west now.  Coming more from the SSE instead of straight south.

Seattle folks were pretty irked about that one as I recall. Probably because it was a completely different animal.

I don't wanna talk about that one.

At least that one was never forecast to affect Seattle. Also, they got compensated with 2/6/17.

That was not even close to a compensation! Three inches of slop. Always irks me when people say that.

That’s all I have to say no more complaining from me for the foreseen future.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

That was frontogenesis in action. The low took a favorable track of course, and the convergence from the wind shift did its job.

It sure did. Like most military minds will tell you, attack angle can be YUGE.

That one wasn’t really forecast at all. The weather can be difficult to predict!

You must be thinking of a different event. 2/6/17 was predicted. It was Superbowl Sunday and I remember anxiously waiting for the 35 degree snow I was getting all day to finally start sticking. It started sticking around 8 PM and I ended up getting 5". Areas of the South Sound had heavier precip rates and got close to a foot.

12/9-10/19 was pretty nice, too. 21 inches of arctic front.

That one was impressively widespread too, well at least compared to 1/10/17.
