The front is yet to arrive, right? That should bring some really heavy rain to areas.

Except the other two bought widespread heavy snow to the Seattle area.   ;)

Right up there with the big boys now.   Like people always say... if it can happen in other places then it can still happen here.

Between 3-6 am.  That will be the best timeframe for switchover.  I am going to go to sleep early and set my alarm for 3.  You should do the same just in case it doesnt snow.  Then at least you will have your sleep in.

There were many times I wondered if we would ever get to forecast a weather event of this magnitude.

The last two weeks have been one hell of a ride and I'm so grateful I got to experience it.

Wow... more snow on Thursday per the GFS.

gfs_mslp_pcpn_frzn_nwus_13.png

This dry pattern has transitioned to VERY wet.

You think this will be snow in the south sound?  Low looks to be about in the same place as what is happening now and we are getting some weird warming winds off Mt. Rainier or something where others are getting more of an east wind through the passes.

Transition line looks like its from Northgate to the south side of Kirkland.

At least I have some elevation. Just saw the light from a transformer blowing in the distance.

Elevation did not seem to matter in Issaquah.

It transitioned to rain in the Highlands at about 900 feet around the same time it did in the valley.

Warm nose must have headed that direction first.

Sister just called and said their power is out in Bothell/Mill Creek area -- Lots and lots of people are the same according to twitter. Dangerous situation tonight.

Just checked the PSE outage map... looks scattered and small numbers of homes effected in each outage.   They say its worse in Kitsap and Thurston counties.

Exactly elevation not meaning much right now.

Wish I lived in snoqualmie ridge though. They seem to be more protected from dreaded warm noses

Snoqualmie Ridge is usually the western extent of the east wind outflow through the pass.

Snow is picking up again and temp moved back down from 31 to 30

hills between Renton/Issaquah

There is some outflow there with the SE wind... coming through Maple Valley.

Do you have the map of where the warm nose is?

Someone here might.  I am just going by traffic cams which tells the story well tonight.
