Hey Geos, I know the record won't happen here, but does snowfall in the spring still count towards the 2014 winter snow totals? Thanks!

Yeah seasonal. But not towards the winter total.

What do you mean by seasonal but not winter? Sorry, I'm not sure what that means in meteorology terms. Thanks!

From July 1st - June 30th is considered the annual or seasonal total. Winter is only Dec, Jan, Feb.

RECORD BROKEN FOR ALL-TIME SNOWIEST SEASON EVER IN THE DETROIT METRO AREA!!!! WOOOOHOOOOOOOOO :o :D

Received 3.1inches last night making that a grand total of 94.4". What a winter!!!!!

Now, I can honestly say that I am ready for Spring. Bring on the 70s and 80s!!

FWIW.......More snow possible IMBY Friday night.

This from Noaa:

NOT MUCH OF A WARMUP EXPECTED DURING THE EXTENDED PERIOD...WITH EVEN
A LOW CHANCE FOR ADDITIONAL SNOW FRIDAY NIGHT (SEE 00Z GFS).

The never ending winter continues.

ORD received 1.4". 82.0" of snow on the season, 0.3" away from #2 on record. If only there weren't measuring issues during the NYE storm, we'd have #2 locked up.

Yeah no kidding. That was an abomination at the weather observing crew during that storm!

Except for deeply shaded areas, the snow from yesterday is a memory.
