It is just pouring rain on this backend of the band. Everything already has a pretty decent layer of ice on it.

Once the precipitation passes, it might be a chance for valley locations to start to warmup.

If the flow doesn't switch southerly at the surface the low levels are just going to sit under an inversion. The lookout south of Silver Falls popped to 36 when that band went through and then immediately dropped back to 31.

I would trade that ice storm with him anytime.  I love hard core destructive weather events. I don't want anyone Hurt but I love that stuff.  Really miss the wind storms we used to get.

That is one thing my area does well with.  Seen quite a bit of ice here.  It's a bloody mess if there is too much.

This is what the ECMWF shows for OR early tomorrow morning.  Seems very aggressive with the warming though.

15f in some locations... really hard to believe. Given that its just ice coming down, which outside of being beautiful is a huge pain in the butt, I'm hoping to be surprised.

27/16 day here. My high was almost the same as your low.

Yup.  I was very disappointed with today.  At least I'm supposed to be one colder places tonight once the evaporative cooling set in.

I hit 32.7 about an hour ago. Was above freezing for about ten minutes. What a bummer. Did score a low of 15 though.

One interesting thing I noticed today is the dandelion plants we have around the edge of the yard literally got freeze dried by this cold wave.  The leaves just crumbled to dust in my hand.  Pretty harsh!

Very intriguing to see southern areas stay ing so much colder in this setup. I think it means good things for the Portland area in the coming months and years.

It happens with cold waves of this type.  In Jan 1930 your area kicked our butts to the curb.

Quite the S/N gradient. Kind of like last March which was the 3rd coldest in Oregon history.

26/10 here so far today, we'll see if it holds. Still at 25 with this moderate rain rolling through.

25 here with a sleet/zr mix continuing. There is a glaze on everything out there now.

Feels like things are a little bit more even after this event and February 2023. Not all the way but a couple decent wins for Oregon.
