My son just asked me about the weather this weekend so I ran the ECMWF surface maps because there are usually breaks during stormy patterns in Seattle.   What a mess.   Very little sun for maybe a week.   Clouds at multiple levels for many days... damp and really chilly daytime temps.    Sun and showers every day during spring troughing is one thing.   This is going to be something worse.   Timing of our trip couldn't have been any better.

Kind of works out perfectly. You don't have to miss out on any beautiful weather here, while I get to enjoy the late season cold rain. It also ensures the grass will stay green deeper into the Spring and summer here, which while that may not be so difficult in North Bend, down in Seattle I'm already seeing brown spots in the most exposed parts of my lawn.

We break down during our annual road trip to MN and will stop at McDonalds a couple times.   They actually have really good coffee.  We never go to McDonalds when when we are home.

Okay! I keep hearing this over and over! My roommate and I were just talking about it the other night. Is it really that good??

I’m not a fan of the Chick Fil A 🐓 there. I wish they would have turned that into the In-N-Out 🍔 instead. I’m going to miss the Hawaiian Time 🌺 that they are going to tear down now. Best Hawaiian food in the PNW.

And apparently McDonalds Coca Cola is even better than the Mexican Coke that comes in the bottle!

I am all for staying green all summer.   Rain once twice a week would be ideal.  But nature doesn't give a crap what I want!

And maybe it's because you expect McDonalds to be crap so the coffee exceeds expectations?  :)

McDonald’s coffee is okay. It’s fairly strong for something you buy at a fast food place. I cannot drink Dutch Bros, it just takes like hot water to me.

Much more angst when the inevitable prolonged rainy stretch shows up in the models, though.

Even when you "luck out" and are out of town for most of it!

I recently discovered an amazing Hawaiian place here in Denver. I will be poorer for it. But it's healthier than any of these burger joints!

Indeed.    Long rainy rainy stretches with no sunny days mixed in during the warm season is my biggest weakness.    I have said many times that April and May are often my least favorite months in the PNW.   Jim has said the same thing hundreds of times and he is a life-long native.   Rain all of November doesn't' bother me at all though.   All about sun angle.

And nature doesn't care either way... and it will pass.  👍

Yeah it’s the simple things though. One thing I always try to do is have time for a good cup of Biden in the morning before work. Sit out on the porch and feel the morning air. I’m not into deluxe coffee, but I get why some folx are.

We buy Petes espresso roast pre ground and use a regular coffee maker. I can’t really taste the difference between that and a truly gourmet brew.

no offense you've just never had single origin craft coffee.  I got turned on to it when we lived in Santa Cruz, no looking back.  I don't sweeten coffee or alter its taste in anyway other than a little bit of oat milk

Nike is also an Oregon company, though I have boycotted their products for almost a decade due to their human rights abuses.

I’ve spent my career with a large, evil insurance company. They’ve given me opportunities and rewarded me financially when Ive done good work. I’ve been able to take care of my family, put my kids through college, live in a place I enjoy. I’ve worked with hundreds of good people over the years. I don’t get the hate for large corporations because they provide millions of good jobs.

Great question. Last weekend they were about 65-70, a little warmer in Lewiston. The night have been chilly though in the 30's.

Thanks for asking. Currently it is 61F and with a cool westerly breeze. so we have our west and north facing windows closed with the east facing ones open.

Both.   They are wildly popular of course.

I could see uninformed people liking Amazon for convenience. But Microsoft?! They don’t even make good products, they openly stole their best ideas and otherwise make products and software that are crap.

If they went away new corporations like them would just fill the space.

Not necessarily true, if there was an actual playing field for real competition instead of the faux capitalism we have now.

I get it. We all gotta eat right? My insurance broker is a great guy. Your reply could have been authored by Willard Romney, corporations are people too you know. My roommate from college works at NIKE, I couldn’t do it, but he sleeps just fine.
