What a day! What a past 33 days!

Today 3.10" (ambient)

Since March 31st over 11 inches!

Since Dec 1st over 20 inches.

Pond now inches  from overflowing, first time since late 2020!

Some minor flooding today first  time in years! SW wapello  county had a report of 6.5" just today!

Todays drought  monitor  still had mby in "abnormally  dry"  which will be gone next week. Its honestly  as wet now as I have seen since maybe sept 2020. Looking at May forecast  a 2010  deluge isnt out of the question.   Snodgrass referred  to 2010 as a analog year? Seeing so many unusual  things not seen for years! Like my basement  leaking!

The front has moved through the area and temps today will be about 15 degrees cooler than yesterday with highs near normal in the upper 60's. We turn colder than normal for the weekend with high temps struggling to escape the mid 50's for higher spots and upper 50's in lower locales. It will be cloudy with some showers possible most likely on Sunday into Sunday night. We warm back up again by the middle of next week before we cool back down for the week of the 12th with a stretch of below normal readings.
Chester County records for today: High 95 degrees at Phoenixville (2018) / Low 28 Devault 1W (1957) / Rain 3.00" Devault 1W (1985)

Big widespread rains where it was needed, good improvement on the drought monitor forsure!  Still need more rain in SE Nebraska through NE Iowa.

Models are not in agreement on timing but another 3 day severe weather outbreak looks likely across the country next week and sharp cool down to follow as we go into Mother's Day weekend.

I thought the rain had ended last evening, but more showers (a narrow band) popped up and trained over my area. Ended up with 2.28" total rainfall yesterday. The evening showers actually had the highest rain rates of the day. It's getting soggy, and the local river is actually flooding a little for the first time in probably a couple years!

The next two systems, Saturday and Tuesday, appear to be poorly timed for eastern Iowa.  Models show the good rain and storms to the west, but weakening as they move in here.  After that, the flow changes and quiets down.

Definitely watching that severe potential with interest as it looks like it will offer a chance of severe wx farther east than the last big outbreak.

Horrible storm. Going to be a lot of hail damage. Been in the basement for the tornado warning. Lost power for awhile. Got this before it got worse and we had to run to the basement

Holy smokes it looks like there was some circulation with the rain bands!! I jgot home from mowing about an hour ago and I still have my mower and trailer all hooked up for tomorrow.  I’m debating whether I should go put everything in the garage…

Moving east. Don’t know if it moves up to your area or not. Keep watching the radar.

Looking over the over 300 cocorahs  locations  across Iowa mby has 3rd most precip in 2024! And even more shocking given how far SE I am, I recorded  the 2nd most snowfall in Iowa! Only Coralville eeked out a inch more snow. No doubt about after December  2023  this area a magnet for precip! Doesn't  really surprise  me though.  In 2017 I spent a couple  days researching  and Ottumwa  Iowa Kirksville  Mo have the wildest swings and deviations from averages  in the midwest! Bermuda triangle  here of crazy ups and downs in precip. The past  13 months totally  bear this out. Yes all location  flucuate   but the swings here historically  are mind blowing!

Damage to 3 sides of the house siding. Obviously new roof needed. All downspouts dented in. Wrapping around the house and poles is dented and peeling. Sounds like power poles were snapped north of town. Going to be a lot of repairs around here this summer.

Chilly weekend ahead with some showers temps will struggle to escape the 50's in most spots. Shower chances look to continue for much of the week ahead. The warmest day should be Wednesday with highs near 80 degrees. We should see a change to cooler than normal weather beginning next weekend and lasting through the mid to late month period.

Over 1.2" rain fell yesterday at KDWU! (Mostly from a single t'storm that occurred from 10pm to midnight)

72/64 was the hi/low. Today might feature a longer break between the precipitation, sun is already out and may fix up a more primed environment for storms. Overall nicer Spring days than we had late last week, the upstairs is a bit less stuffy now.

There's a chance that a few showers could work up into my area today otherwise cloudy and cool.  Looks like most of us will dry out and cool down for a good while after the early and midweek storms roll through.  @Tom maybe some rain in the valley?

0.59" of rain since yesterday with 0.35" since midnight. Showers and another chilly day in store with temps staying in the 50's for most spots in the county. Clouds and showers but warmer temps look likely for the entire work week with Tuesday looking like the driest day with maybe even some sun at times. Wednesday looks the warmest with temps near 80 degrees.

That's a large area of the Nation where the "Pool of Cool" will ultimately Rule...out here its cooled off into the upper 80's today/tomorrow but that comes with very high winds up to 65mph gust for N AZ (30-35mph in the valley).  No rain here in the valley for the foreseeable future as the ridge fires back up later this week.

@Clintonand for most of the Midwest/Plains crew is going to experience more chances of storms but I think it shifts farther south and east week 2 as the 500mb patter really amplifies.

It rained pretty much all day in Tulsa. I had 1.23", I see the airport had 1.73" and there was a station north of town with over 3".

I've had 8.37" in the last 2 weeks so it's been a pretty incredible stretch. Probably some more with Monday night's stuff too!

Slightly cooler day but we're still getting warm nights. Only got down to 62 this morning, now 65 with moderate rain and a weak t'storm.

I noticed central Oklahoma is in a High Risk today. Stay safe everyone.
