chescowxman
The front has moved through the area and temps today will be about 15 degrees cooler than yesterday with highs near normal in the upper 60's. We turn colder than normal for the weekend with high temps struggling to escape the mid 50's for higher spots and upper 50's in lower locales. Stormy
I thought the rain had ended last evening, but more showers (a narrow band) popped up and trained over my area. Ended up with 2.28" total rainfall yesterday. The evening showers actually had the highest rain rates of the day. It's getting soggy, and the local river is actually flooding a little for the first time in probably a couple years! Hawkeye
The next two systems, Saturday and Tuesday, appear to be poorly timed for eastern Iowa. Models show the good rain and storms to the west, but weakening as they move in here. After that, the flow changes and quiets down. 3 Quote season snowfall: 34.8" '22-23: 30.2" '21-22: 27.1" '20-21: 52.5" '19-20: 36.2" '18-19: 50.2" '17-18: 39.5" Average snowfall: ~30"

And even more shocking given how far SE I am, I recorded the 2nd most snowfall in Iowa! Only Coralville eeked out a inch more snow. No doubt about after December 2023 this area a magnet for precip! Doesn't really surprise me though. In 2017 I spent a couple days researching and Ottumwa Iowa Kirksville Mo have the wildest swings and deviations from averages in the midwest! Bermuda triangle here of crazy ups and downs in precip. The past 13 months totally bear this out. Timmy Supercell
Slightly cooler day but we're still getting warm nights. Only got down to 62 this morning, now 65 with moderate rain and a weak t'storm. I noticed central Oklahoma is in a High Risk today. Stay safe everyone. 2 Quote Ashland, KY Weather '23-'24 Winter Snowfall - 5.50" First freeze: 11/1 (32) Minimum: 2 on 1/17 Measurable snows: 4 Max 1 day snow: 3" (1/19) Thunders: 22 1/27, 1/28, 2/10, 2/22, 2/27, 2/28, 3/5, 3/6, 3/14, 3/15 3/26, 3/30, 3/31, 4/2, 4/3, 4/8, 5/4, 5/5, 5/6, 5/7 5/8, 5/15, Severe storms: 2 ------------------------------------------------------- [Klamath Falls, OR 2010 to 2021] https://imgur.com/SuGTijl
