Tom
Picked up 1.8" in the last hour...storm total over 15" easy now...the snow is very characteristic of LES, very dry and powdery. Gotta finish shoveling the driveway. I'll post some photos I just took and it actually go dark outside during some heavy bursts! These cloud tops must be really high. Meichel
Wet and slushy here, almost to Erie, PA. Winds have shifted and are coming off the lake. Quote On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.
Sciascia
I talked to my dad, and he told me he saw a couple people abandon their cars on Sayre. Also told me it took him over 20 minutes to reach a street that he lives 5 minutes away from. Crazy! Quote ...The Artist Formerly Known as RJSnowLover... Geos
Snow slackened off a bit here. Drifting is really bad out there, making it very hard to measure. I had 11.7" on my snow board, but is probably not exact. Saw this report, which is the nearest location to me. Not sure how accurate it is, but could be correct. 0425 PM HEAVY SNOW ZION 42.46N 87.84W02/01/2015 E13.0 INCH LAKE IL PUBLICSTORM TOTAL RELAYED VIA TWITTER. Tom
Picked up another 1.0-1.5 in the last hour...easily broke past 15"...when I cleared my front driveway during the 1st round it had about 7"(compacted), second round 7.5"...my deck out in back has a 14" depth (compacted, never been touched). The fact that the second round was fluffier than the first, you can prob add another 0.5" to the first round from compacting overnight. So 15" sounds about right if you average out the front/back. Prob tack on another 2-4" by midnight so 16-20" might bode well.
