whitechristmas
Does this arctic talk next weekend involve PDX at all or are we out of the picture? Brennan
NWS is VERY dumb in Seattle in how they handle NW interior forecasts.... Especially ZONE. They completely under forecasted snow for Whatcom County most of the week, and now they extend the WSW until this afternoon with another 3-5” of snow. It’s 7:20AM and there’s freezing rain and sleet, NOT snow. 0” of new snow since they reissued the WSW, and that won’t change.

TT-SEA
Interesting blurb from KOMO: Seattle has had 16 consecutive days of rain through Sunday with No. 17 likely -- although as of 7 a.m., it had been raining for eight consecutive hours in the city but had yet to rain hard enough to measure the minimum 0.01 inches to count as an official rainy day. The record for consecutive days with rain is 33 set in 1953. If we get measurable rain on Tuesday, 18 days would move us into a 4 way tie for 10th-longest streak. Time for some drier weather! Better get going... we are home Wednesday. I did see a few pages back, but it's the next morning and radar returns looked very good in Bellingham, so places where it was falling as snow should have picked up quite a bit since those posts a "few pages back." westcoastexpat
This could end up being the best snow fall up north in over ten years. Awesome. I'm not sure about that. December 2008 didn't have the discrepancy across the region. Even within the north, if you're close to sea level you don't have any snow at all. In '08 pretty much everyone in metro Vancouver had 12" fall
