Slipping away on the GFS. It’s significantly snowier in NE , IL and Indiana than on any of the other model guidance. Weird.

No, I think there could be some cooler weather late in the month. A lot of details still up in the air though.

February 1989 was absolutely insane in the Fraser Valley. The NE outflow winds gusted near 100km/h for three days straight while temperatures plunged below -10C. Wind chill values were near -30C. While it was dry up here in SWBC, the prolonged damaging winds and extreme wind chill values made for a historic arctic blast. Unfortunately, I was not born yet to experience it. Maybe we'll get a repeat one day.

Back in Portland again. Feels gloomier than ever after the comparison to a mid-altitude tropical climate! Looks like the lower Midwest is about to get a great storm. I’m not jealous at allll.
