4+ feet of snow in the last five weeks and roof collapses all over town. Interesting that one of the NWS Boise mets mentioned 1948-49 as the closest parallel to this winter.

Who knows. This is the most crazy model struggle we have been at this time frame in a long time. Last nights ECMWF ensemble mean only showed our heights dropping to 555 at the lowest early next week. This GFS run shows 540. I'm not optimistic, but nothing is etched in stone yet.

This last minute change to a colder outcome may have much to do with the current MJO wave. Never underestimate how much of a player that is when it's up and running.

You never know. This is a pretty crazy situation. The big change between the 0z and 12z is the amount of high pressure over the GOA (much more on 12z). Very impressive turn of events. No telling what the final outcome might be.
