Crazy, my low was actually colder. It hit 18 here the morning of 2/21, and 20 the morning of 12/26.

It was definitely not colder here around Christmas.

We were not here to verify in February... I am going by the station near our house at the same elevation.

I am checking the other station in North Bend and the low there for the winter was 22.

I believe it. Jesse's 18 and my 15 were aided by snow cover. I don't think the North Bend area had much snow in late February.

There was very little snow in the valley.   One morning there was snow (2/19) but it mostly melted that day so the next night the ground was mostly bare.    Although the coldest morning of the winter was actually on 2/23 in North Bend with 22 degrees.

Max depth here was 6 inches... on Christmas morning. :)

I had 0 inches here then... But I wasn't even home for Christmas so it made no difference to me.

Lol, my seasonal total is 10”. Assuming Wednesday’s storm finds a way to miss us and nail Richmond, my highest snowdepth for the last 2yrs is 4”. #pathetic

The long range GFS is absurd-looking. Big -U wind anomaly propagating to the pole. So much for that Archambault event, verbatim.

What would that mean in the long term?

I was sort of looking forward to the early April ridgy spelll, fwiw.

There’d still be a ridgy spell, but it wouldn’t be the giant full-latitude western ridge/+NAO vortex type pattern that we’ve seen in recent years.

After many years of models trending towards that big western ridge/+NAO regime as time closes, the fact we might be trending away from it this time is kinda yuuge.

Would the mid-month retrogression still occur, or would that interfere?

Down to 34 this morning with frost. GFS has been really persistent with this snow on Friday. Wondering if we'll have one more shot at snow...? EURO running yet?

I'm not sure what you predict is very accurate. You just rattle off a lot of big words.

He has actually done pretty well lately. Not as good as you, but close.

Aside from the January thing, but the western torch that month seemed to catch most by surprise.

Some improvement in the snowpack situation, but still dire for Southern and S. Central Oregon. When I was in Senator Wyden's office last week there was quite a bit of talk about the impending water shortages in the Klamath Basin. He's scheduling some emergency town halls down there.

The Shawnigan Lake low for the winter is just about the same as North Bend.

Although I am sure the average temperature here for the entire winter was significantly higher thanks to plenty of easterly outflow particularly early on.

Honest question, as I don’t know your spring climate that well. What would be historic about that?

Would potentially be latest accumulating (over a trace) snowfall on record at PDX.

3/21/12 is the previous latest I believe.
