August 2018 Weather in the Pacific Northwest

Is this sarcasm? I want it to rain on Sunday like the ECMWF showed.

The 12Z GFS looks more promising next week compared to its 00Z run.

. No sarcasm, I am holding you personally responsible for a few of the wildfires at least because of your love for good summer weather.

This all could have been avoided if Farmboy would have just cheered for summer rain.   We were so close!

SEA reporting 82 degrees with a visibility of 2 miles... lovely.     <_>

Also 82 degrees here but I can see the Cascades which are definitely more than 2 miles away.

Sorry. Too bad our control over the weather has to be viewed as diabolical by some people...

Probably only about a 2 mile visibility up here as well. Ugly.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Eclipse was one year ago today... and thankfully it was a beautiful day!

My son took this picture in Jefferson, OR as they waited.

My brother let me know the warmest temp he has seen this year on the S. Oregon coast at North Bend was 74 in late April. He thinks they will beat that today! Though I just looked and they are sitting at 58, so maybe not...

King Euro looking further west than the GFS on Sunday/Monday.

Nice to see the eastward trend not being across the board on every model, at very least.

ECMWF is definitely still wet for Sunday into Monday.

You're wrong, Tim.

I'd tell you why but I have class in a few hours.

At some point potentially class will turn into "work/job." But let's be real. When has work ever prevented any of us from posting!!!

F'n A. I can't imagine how many hours of non-productive time I've accumulated over the years.

Tim is really nothing but a victim here. Clearly in need of defense. :)

You just want a personification of nature so you have a punching bag for stress relief.   I am a good candidate since I enjoy sunny, warm weather in our wet climate.   That is all that is happening.   ;)

Like you don’t do the same thing to me and Jim, et al. during the cool and wet season. But far more obsessively. ;)

You're still kind of a turd, but yeah.

dame phil you should not have been outside like that in the middle of a close lighting storm like that glad you are all right!that was some intese lighting for sure.

For whatever reason, lightning loves to strike down in that little gulley back there behind the neighbor’s house. That’s the second time it’s hit there this summer (hit there once last summer too).

It never strikes the 150ft tulip poplars on the hill to the right, or the rooftops. Nope. It snakes down into the ravine there and strikes one of the gazebos or the shrubs lining the pathway to the creek. Makes no sense.

Visibility up to seven miles at PDX. So much for avoiding skin cancer today...

We have blowing and drifting smoke/ash up here! You are really missing out!

Really rooting for the EURO model for the weekend.

AQ is a bit better - instead of low 300 readings the area is between 225-275 about. Still smells like an ash tray outside right now. No hint of blue skies here - Tim has much better skies where he is at compared to areas closer to the Sound.

A toasty 84 here right now.

Tim has much thicker skin than Jim. Have to admit for as much crap as Tim get's he takes it pretty well.
