You always seem to miss it when people correct you on this one. 1948-49 was one of the coldest winters on record for many parts of the west. I think that was the last time they got legit snowfall in parts of LA.

- Why bother posting maps outside of 3 days

Was down to 33 here under the c-zone with sleet just after dark... the ground is still sort of white but the temp is back up to 38 now with a little south wind as the c-zone has reformed farther north.

Within just a few miles there was a range of depths from 8" to like 15" I think. I had a lot of melting while others did not. Most people besides us don't talk much about weather events from 15 years ago. My wife lived in Eugene during 2003-04. She mentions it. That was a really good stretch in the Salem area too, but Eugene did get some decent snow. They also had about 3-4" with that New Year's Day storm.

Some of those frames have Eugene at 50F while north of Seattle is in the 20s. Could be one of those years...
