We’re just north of downtown by about 8 miles on the Lake. Point click only said 3-5” though despite the graphic saying more. Guess we’ll see!

Same with my buddy in the city near Ukraine Village...warmth off the lake is killing snow production.  I just got back from shoveling 2" of slop, the wettest snow I think I've ever had to shovel.  Temps are still only at 33F and the snow is super wet.  Not fun to shovel.  I doubt ORD gets to those higher totals, prob half that...temps need to dip so the snow content can fluff up better.  It was weird out there tonight with my neighbors leaves flying off, chunks of snow flying off the trees, winds gusting and howling...felt like one of those late October snowstorms you hear about on the EC.

Same here....although, not driven rain. Temps are at 37F. Radar is loaded w moisture. The rain/snowline should be edging closer around 3am or so.

Ya, sorta crappy and doesn't really have that "feel" of a Blizzard.  Kinda odd if you ask me.  I'm used to wind/whipped powder from previous storms I've experienced.  Would have been nice to see what KC experienced but with the moisture we are seeing.  Then, my friend, it would have been an all out Blizzard around here.

There is light snow falling here at this time, about a half inch on the grass the road is just wet at this time. The current temperature here is 33 (32.7°) the winds are light out of the NE

My point has 3 tonight plus 3 tomorrow. Would not mind busting high but we'll see how it looks in the morning. Some models keep snow flying here past 2 pm some closer to 6 pm

Yeah been a frustrating amount of nonsticking snow near the lakeshore.

 

My family lives in Evanston about 2 miles from the lake and they have several inches, but the Northwestern cams on the lake show nothing sticking there yet.

 

The wildcard will be any lake effect/enhanced banding later tomorrow morning.

Downtown Chicago, yes. People who commute from the western and northern suburbs who currently have 12+ down already will be shocked to see the difference.

It's definitely having a big impact, especially within a couple miles of the lake.

 

But it's been snowing at their place for almost 6 hours since that report. I'll bet they wake up to 10" on the ground.

Total bust in Milwaukee - maybe a quarter of an inch or so - the wind is whipping around and blowing what little snow we had off our grass and into the street where it promptly melts! Actually kind of funny, if we’d have a major storm I would have been happy, but I actually don’t mind having avoided a two inch nuisance snow.
