October 2019 Weather Discussion for the PNW

Recommended Posts

You make yourself into a very large and easy target quite often.

Nah... its just too easy.    Supposedly on ignore and apparently still living in his head.

I do think frost is sort of annoying.   I certainly don't cheer for it.   Just another thing that happens.   Oh well.

The early Feb 2014 cross-Cascade event was nuts.  Wind blowing straight from the NE over the mountains.  Downsloped and warmed a bit but it was still only like 26F.

Yeah that kind of 33 me. Totally ate a ton of the precip, snowed all day on the 6th and only amounted to about 2", thankfully there was a quick burst and we got about 3" additional snow in an hour before the precip shut off.

Ton of spread on the long range ensembles. Probably just depends on where the ridge sets up, over us or offshore.

Everyone likes different types of weather and expresses their opinions on here.   Not a big deal... unless you want uniformity and censorship.   ;)

Warm and wet. 4/5 Octobers there have been wetter than normal, with 2016 of course setting the monthly record with over 18". Tough to get freezes when it's raining all the time!

At least I have a license to practice law. Jimbo is not going to be pleased when he finds out you’ve been representing him without one.

#itsacrime

Jim has actual, genuine enthusiasm for the weather he likes. He doesn't base a large part what he claims to like or not like on what he thinks will get under certain people's skin, or push some sort of agenda about the "correct" way to think. He's far from perfect, but it definitely makes him a lot more likeable. I'm proud to represent!

Everytime I go outside in the cold my nose begins to run then it stops when I come back inside. Lip chapping follows the same pattern.

That is your body's response to getting cold or dried out. It has nothing to do with illness or viruses.

I'm surprised to see 2006 on that list, was it top 5 coldest at any major station?

And yeah, the 1946-47 winter tends to get overlooked a lot, mostly due to the insane stretch that started a few years later. Maybe that was the warning shot winter.

Weather does not usually cause illness.

Kids going back to school cause illness. They should all be kept in school in quarantine for two months straight to let them all infect each other and run its course. Meanwhile all parents stay home and watch football during that time.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Little f*cking petri dishes...

Although mine was probably the result of getting bored and licking door handles at Fred Meyer a few days ago.
