Hawksfan2008
In Chelan now. Heading a bit SE to Vantage/George/Quincy area shortly. Should be wild! Looks like the squall line will develop just prior to that area. HRRR consistent with this feature at this point. Will share video/photos later but going to be stay in the moment for the time being. GeorgeWx
CAPE over 4000J/kg conjuct strong forcing/height falls ahead of a negatively tilted trough is a big deal. Those storms over the terrain are going to be legit. I can’t recall CAPE ever reaching 4000J/kg here during the month of May. That’s actually close to the values observed before the June 29th 2012 derecho. And the large forcing mechanisms look more impressive with this. That’s some tornado alley right there. GeorgeWx
Nothing too crazy here besides some fairly constant thunder and the occasional flash of lighting. Pretty heavy rain currently though. I would be getting my butt over to eastern WA right about now if it wasn't my son's birthday today. Doing the whole virtual birthday party thing and I think it'd be highly frowned upon if I was missing in order to go chase storms. Maybe next time.Get your son and bring him with you while you storm chase hehheh

Requiem
My last day of high school yesterday— sort of bittersweet. I wanted to go out to E. Oregon to see some of these storms as a celebration, but tracking them is good enough for me. We did have some thunder earlier— maybe more a bit later? 1 Quote "Let's mosey!" --Cloud Strife ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Top 5 Snow Events (post 2014): (1.
