Omg we are new best friends! I do too, I have a imalant ms18

2 years ago it was the world's Brightest flashlight at 100k lumens.  Has a built in fan. I can't explain how bright it is, but it has more light than a 50 inch light bar on a truck. I would mail it to you to play with.

It was 600 bux 😆

Probably see that sucker from space. 😂

I looked at it for 1.5 years and would add and take away from my cart for the crazy price. Finally my girlfriend said well you only live here once so get it if you can afford it. The amount of light is crazy, for 15 seconds it is a true 100k lumens before it steps down to 70k. It gets hot really fast.

Interesting setup over the weekend with this weak low tracking South of Seattle. 12z GFS hammers the South and Central Sound with a narrow band of heavy wet snow. Kuchera map gives SEA 7".

If the track remains close to this it will be a major storm, but....

Poor Auburn. 😞

I would actually call that a win for Auburn. They can get snow but it's rare compared to Colfax which is like North Bend or maybe Snoqualmie (the town) or wherever the snow line usually is during major winter events. I have a few friends in Colfax, they get snow a few times each winter winter, but Auburn only gets them occasionally. Colfax is usually where Caltrans sets-up chain controls or closures if going east. I do recall Auburn getting like 3-4 inches during that system that brough lowland snow to CA last Feb.

27 degrees currently, 3.5" of snow. We got screwed over with this storm, if I go 12 miles away from here they have 150-200" of snow, maybe next time it'll be my turn.

Guaranteed to show up from Tim right after something being posted about snow for us low-landers.  Classic.  I wish I believed any of these maps anymore.  This has gotten sad.

This has never looked like a sea level event in Puget Sound...temps too warm, precip too light and scattered. But the opportunity persists for one of those little low centers to come inland in the right spot in the overnight hours.

This winter just hasn’t been it for us, or last one either. About a dozen chances missed. I wouldn’t bet on it :(

My Dad sent me these from Port Townsend this morning. Sounds like they had 2-3 inches down by the water there. A little more at his place up on the hill.

SNOWFALL WARNING

8:58 AM PST Tuesday 27 February 2024

Local snowfall accumulation near 5 cm expected.

Where: Metro Vancouver - central including the City of Vancouver, Burnaby and New Westminster, Southeast including Surrey and Langley, and Southwest including Richmond and Delta

When: Late this afternoon to before midnight, potentially impacting the evening commute.

Remarks:

A weather system brings a wintry mix of precipitation to the Lower Mainland late this afternoon through Wednesday.

Snow levels will be hovering near sea level, and precipitation will start as rain mixed with snow late this afternoon. Snowfall accumulations are expected to vary greatly with elevation and proximity to the water.

With a warming southwesterly flow aloft, snow levels will rise overnight resulting in mixed precipitation changing to moderate to rain near midnight. Local snowfall accumulation near 5 cm can be expected before the phase change.

Moderate to heavy rain will persist through Wednesday and ease to a few showers Wednesday evening with the passage of the system. Total rainfall amounts will be from 20 to 40 mm.

There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.

It's called clown range for a reason.

There could be some snow today with this front around the area.  Temps still near freezing in spots and precip is rolling in. Should be some snow out this way today before it warms up.

If the low of 28 at SEA this morning is real that is two weeks later than the normal last 28 of the season which is Feb 13.  Late Feb magic continues.

Cabin had a low of 9

27 here which is pretty solid for this time of year.  One of the really interesting things with this event is how much colder and snowier the Kittitas Valley has been than the Wenatchee Valley.  That extra 1000 feet makes a huge difference sometimes.

The late week stuff looks much better.

To me the most solid chance appears to be Saturday night.  This latest GFS run is 100% legit with that.  Almost a Feb 2017 vibe with good precip intensity for your area and Seattle.  At face value this run would be really good on that one.  The ECMWF has been decent that night as well.

Yeah... I post snowy maps too.   The GEM is probably meaningful in this situation though.    I have no idea what will happen but when the GFS is showing 4 feet of snow in Seattle its usually a good idea to cross-check it with other models.

The GFS snow map is completely meaningless. The terrain bleed for this temp profile is outrageous.
