Just had an epic wipeout on the front steps. I’m leaking all over.

Didn’t expect freezing fog at 25°F. Coated everything, even the street.

Guess it’s time for all of us to call it a day up here and move to Texas where they have real weather and real football teams.

The incredible shrinking storms continue for Tahoe. Two days ago the forecast was for 8-12", then 4-8", then finally 1-2". We ended up with half an inch. Looks like Sunday might be a real storm and then ridging till March?

22" on the season with a normal of 170"

STJ should cut through every now and again. The ridging will probably be more centered in BC/PNW.

To be fair, last month was pretty dynamic. Realize the ice down your way wasn’t ideal, but with all the winter weather and cold temps, and wild swings from frigid to mild, I wouldn’t characterize it as boring. The late month torch definitely sucked but at least we saw some other, rarer stuff happen too.

Starting February 2024 off with showers at times, and a low of 43. Looks pretty seasonable the next week or so, with some frosty mornings at times. Would love to see a decent mountain snow pattern set up at some point this month, but I won’t hold my breath.

Yeah, it was pretty interesting to swing from historic cold to historic warmth. Could’ve done without the warmth part…but statistically speaking it was pretty wild and interesting to see.

All we can hope for is a cool and snowy spring. That wont help ski season now but the fish in the streams and rivers will be happy.

Oh no... sarcasm from the person who says he doesn't use sarcasm any more to troll.

It can be both.   Probably going to be a warmer than normal spring but a 2-week window of mountain snow would be a really nice balance.

52F outside and overcast. Spouse came home from the hospital yesterday so we joked that she didn't miss a month because her accident was the first day of December when it snowed here and came home the last day of Jan. Son has a weird ailment that is making him sick when he eats a bite or two of food so I'll have to get him examined next week. ER wasn't concerned last night.

It's actually pleasant outside, a bit cooler than it has been but not bad.

Last night I dreamed that I met some acquaintance or family member of @MossMan and that I tried to explain that on this weather site we call him moss man and he loves the summer sunshine because of his boats. Then I woke up.
