BLI snowman
I figured we'd surpassed those. That remains to be seen, July did have the highest average minimum on record for Oregon and was 2nd in Washington behind 1998. August may be close for both. August's number may be pulled down a bit since east side lows have been running closer to average the last 7-10 days.
richard mann
The thermal gradient is definitely relaxing, as it should come late August. .. Main focus pretty much, I'd say at the point: PNW, the West more general, and even beyond. http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/sfc/satsfc21.gifhttp://theweatherforums.com/index.php?/topic/609-approaching-pattern-discussion/?p=30748 And this idea, perhaps nothing really very interesting weatherwise here in the West through to where we start seeing the first more true hints of fall. — Some general changes, but again perhaps, not much more noteworthy. "Marie's" still sitting out there to the SW. Sorta. .. Plenty of moisture generation. http://theweatherforums.com/index.php?/topic/177-california-weather-climate/page-23&do=findComment&comment=31861http://theweatherforums.com/index.php?/topic/177-california-weather-climate/?p=31825 Quote ---

BLI snowman
Nicely done, Eugene! It'd be funny if they didn't break the record in September. They had 0 days of 90 in May, 0 in June, 17 in July, 13 in August, and could very well have 0 in September (still plenty of time of course). Phil
Yeah, it's almost like the global climate is warming. Was warming. The news media has switched from hyping a super Niño to hyping global temps. TT-SEA
Its been fairly troughy in August. Just warm troughy. Nice deal. There was a fairly troughy period from 8/12-8/15 and then late last week and weekend. And now the last 2 days of the month as well... and troughy onward into September. Might be due for some ridging from mid-September into October. epiceast
Who gives a crap about the Columbia River temp vs Lake Washington. Lake Washington has been running in the low to mid 70s with occasional dips into the upper 60s. It still feels pretty cool... takes some getting used to when you jump in. No A/C here either. Windows open and fans work just fine. Its been a heavenly summer for outdoor activities and otherwise. My boys prefer Lake Sammamish for wakeboarding and swimming because they say Lake Washington is just too cold. And we have been on Lake Washington numerous times this summer. http://green2.kingcounty.gov/swimbeach/BeachData.aspx?Locator=0826SB&CurrentYear=trueI did go a couple days ago ind definitely did feel cooler. But 75 is too warm for a lake in my opinion.
