Timmy_Supercell 2223
12/01/2019 - 8 inches of snow on the ground. This wasn't from one storm. There was the bomb-low in southern OR right before Thanksgiving. Then more snow a little after. From Nov 26 - Dec 1 a total of 11" fell. Then freezing fog on 12/03. I think the pack went down to around 2-3" but the scene was pretty nice. The last photo was taken on Dec 6th, 99% of the snow melted. 2 1 Quote Weather Data for Klamath Falls, OR ------------------------------------------------------------------- Snowfall (with % of seasonal average) 2010-2011 - 60.70" (168%) 2011-2012 - 49.00" (136%) 2012-2013 - 25.10" (70%) 2013-2014 - 9.05" (25%) 2014-2015 - 2.90" (8%) 2015-2016 - 54.45" (151%) 2016-2017 - 63.00" (175%) 2017-2018 - 18.10" (50%) 2018-2019 - 52.30" (145%) 2019-2020 - 37.00" (103%) 2020-2021 - 15.20" Nov '20 - 00.20" (5%) Dec '20 - 04.40" (44%) Jan '21 - 03.50" (29%) Feb '21 - 07.10" (78%) 2021 Thunderstorms --/--, Biggest Snowstorm - 18.4" (Jan 3-4 2017 - 26 hours) Top 5 Daily Snows: 12.40" (01/03/2017), 8.20" (11/23/2010), 7.50" (12/13/2015), 6.60" (02/07/2017), 6.20" (03/10/2019) Honorable Mention: 6.00" (03/20/2012), 6.00" (02/28/2012), 6.00" (01/16/2020), 5.70" (12/14/2016), 5.50" (01/18/2012) Max Depths: 21.00" (01/07/2017), 18.00" (12/24/2015), 13.00" (01/16/2020), 11.00" (11/23/2010), 9.50" (02/27/2019), 9.00" (02/28/2012) T'storm Days: 10 (2020), 14 (2019), 16 (2018), 12 (2017), 13 (2016), 20 (2015), 21 (2014), 16 (2013), 2 (2012), 12 (2011) 1980-2015 Avg = 12 Severe T'storms: 6 (08/05/2020), (08/10/2019), (08/08/2017), (07/24/2017), (01/19/2016), (08/05/2012) "Almost" Severe: 2 (08/10/2017), (05/04/2016) Vicinity Severe T'storms (close enough to hear, with official severe reports) (06/26/2017), (08/05/2016), (07/09/2015), (07/05/2015), (06/09/2015), (08/05/2014), (08/04/2014), (08/22/2013), (08/12/2013), (09/12/2011), (09/04/2011)

About freezing fog - there exists a very strong type of freezing fog called pogonip in some Western mountain valleys. It is most well associated with northern Nevada, but parts of Idaho and Colorado get it as well. I do wonder if something like this (taken near Elko, NV) is possible anywhere in Oregon: 4
