I think the 00z GFS might actually be about to do it, for reals this time.

He did make it through the fire, went missing, was found. No further news though since. Although his posting style was odd, some of us could read between his tea leaves and his analysis outdid the models during the cold season especially. Once you figured out what he was saying you could see that he saw what the models didn't and he was more right than wrong and more right than the models. 2008 was a prime example especially in regards to the movement of cold air and timing that occurred in December on the west coast. Once I figured out his style it was super easy to understand, Phil on the other hand, nope.... lol.

This turned into a very entertaining SNF game. Cheering for the Bengals because they were dead and buried in this game and their season is on the line even more than the Seahawks today.

00z GFS looking like it'll keep with the elongated W coast trough solution for next week with stronger pieces of energy rolling in off the Pacific but shifts it north a bit. Placement is TBD at this range but interesting to see it stick to its guns as far as overall evolution. Very curious to see if the CMC or ECMWF move that direction instead of keeping the trough more or less intact like they have been showing.
