I'll take 2" to cover up the grass completely. That would make the depth at my place about 4-5", which should hopefully be enough to knock temps down a couple degrees Thursday. Current forecasted high is 38.

man, you must live in the best spot in Lincoln haha we would need close to 4" today to get to 4-5". Feels like we have close to an inch tops over here.

13-14 : 0"

14-15: 0"

15-16" : 0"

16-17 : 0"

17-18 : Probably 10", so in other words, 0" 5.5"

# of times the storm essentially turned into dust: 25

# of times the storm looked at Nebraska and was like "yeah, good joke" , then ran to Chicago: 50

Yeah I saw that. Must be following the hi-rez models as they're showing the heavier totals further south.  Welcome to the forum btw! Assuming you're from Omaha?

We scored pretty well on Sunday. That's what did it.

This will be a pretty high ratio snow. Upper air looks good with little wind. 2" should be easily attainable with the way radar looks.

Forecast was for snow to start today after 11a with 1-3", than it was after 1p with 1-3", now it is after 5p with 1-2". Sun is still shining through the clouds here in Omaha. Might never make it here if you believe the trend

Been snowing here for 5 hours.  Flakes have gotten bigger and intensity has picked back up.  I think we easily will hit 3" and if it continues we might hit 4"

Sweet. This looks more tame as it then suddenly rockets eastward and tries to give a thin streak of half that

Ratios are on our side, and radar still has time to get to our side. I think 2" is a pretty safe bet. Maybe 3" if radar throws a curveball.

Getting pretty bad here.  I coach 7th grade boys basketball and our games with Lexington have been cancelled.  Our varsity games at York have also been cancelled.  Roads getting worse.

Puking huge flakes right now.  Visibility just a few blocks in town.  If this keeps up we might push 4" or more.  Winter wonderland here.

Pixie dust snow & light rates still. Looking like this may continue until the band makes its way East, which could still be a while.

Yeah I thought they'd do it in the morning today. But they had one of their most annoyingly conservative forecasters on hand so it didn't happen.

My part of Lincoln is in a bad area. Back down to pixie dust with an annoying hole on radar. We are in between two more appreciable light bands. Grrrrrr.

Snow continues coming down hard.  I will take a measurement when I get home, but at least 4" and pushing 5" imo.  We'll see.  I am going to use my snowblower for the 3rd time in 2 weeks and hopefully more this weekend.

I think I had 2 bikes stolen there

Bad area as in we're getting no snow atm lol. I agree, I like it here. Really nice houses. Another really underrated area are areas between Normal/Capitol and Hwy 2. Those are old houses but really nice. Wouldn't mind living there as my first house.

Areas just South of Downtown remind me of South Side Chicago. I think that's why there's so many fights IN downtown at night.

Rate is better here now but flake size is still borderline pixie dust-small. I consider it "moderate" snow when I can't see the treeline about a half mile away from my place. I can BARELY see the treeline.

If CentralNeb got 4", Lincoln is looking even better than that judging by what they got on radar vs. what's coming towards us...

Schools in St. Joseph, MO let out 2 hours early today. Snow was supposed to begin at 11 ish, with up to 3 inches accumulating throughout the evening. It's now 3:00, my son is home, and would just be getting ready to be dismissed otherwise. Radar makes it look as though snow is all around, but we haven't seen a single flake touch the ground!

Looks like it's trying to fill in with light snow. Hell, light snow is better than no snow before that main band as that could make an inch of a difference.

4:26 PM, Snow just began falling in St Joseph, MO. only about 3 hours late. It's falling pretty heavy too... I guess it knows it has a lot of time to make up for.

This dry slot sure is magical.

It's weakening too it looks like. I think we'll get an inch out of it. Truly think that Lincoln has a storm deflector. I really don't see any conclusive evidence to show otherwise anymore. Just look at radar, heavy stuff picks up around York, gets through Seward, and it vanishes. Not like this has happened once, it's happened almost EVERY single storm I can remember here, severe wx included. I don't understand.

Pouring snow here right now, we have been under a moderate band of snow for that past hour or so. I measured around an inch at home an hour ago, I expect to see another couple inches easily. Quiet the nice surprise!!

You remember the Geos snow magnet? In terms of Nebraska, that's you my man. Congrats, you've been killin it this year so far. I wish this d**n thing would fill in, it's comical that it's not snowing here but it's snowing in every other direction.

It's filling in around York. I think we'll be okay in Lincoln as long as nothing drastic happens in the 2 counties it'll take to get here.
