Sunday afternoon looks showery for Puget Sound on the Euro. Next week looks mostly dry but a fairly wet front slides through on Saturday.

The rain tomorrow looks pretty sparse down here per the ECMWF.  It falls apart as it moves through.

The work week looks quite nice... plenty of sun and near normal temps.    But the system next Saturday still looks fairly robust.

Of course today once looked very wet and stormy... but its a beautiful sunny morning on the way to near 80 and we are heading out on the lake this afternoon.

You might not be the wettest location for the first time ever. Looks showery for the sound.

12Z GFS took away quite a bit of the rain for next Saturday... returns to dry quicker as well. That is not a good sign for a region wide soaking. I am cheering for that by the way. 12Z GFS was a little disappointing.

Months below normal:

2014 - 2

2015 - 2

2016 - 3

2017 - 7

And already matched 2014 and 2015 this year in 5 months.

It's definitely trending colder overall.

And 5 of the last 9 months have been colder than normal!

And the top tier warm months appear to be winding down from the peak in 2014-2016.

North/South trend in temp and precip. Oregon has been way warmer and drier than you guys over the past handful of years.

This place is a ghost town.  Been going back through old threads from way before I joined.  February, 2014 and December-January, 2016-17 are particularly enjoyable reads and bring back a lot of nostalgia from the last significant snow events we had here way back in 2017 (already feels like forever ago).

Looking at the 500mb pattern it’s almost like there is a force field keeping troughing from digging too deep into the west.

Four corners high seems to be flexing its muscles early, which is part of it. Maybe we will get lucky and it will be displaced a bit eastward this season.

That "force field" may prove to be a better rain maker if things line up right.

My preferences can beat up your preferences’ dad.
