October 2016 Observations and Model Discussion for the Pacific Northwest

Storm watch! Just had to go down and move the garbage can to a less wind prone spot, the wind knocked it over and started blowing it up the driveway. Could be a few cans knocked over before the garbage pickup tomorrow morning. Definitely some strong gusts of wind out there now and even a bit of rain mixed in

Almost like an arctic front that actually over-performs.

No doubt that is what we want to see in the winter.  Ironically this might finally be what brings some actual below normal temps for us when it looked warm for the last several days.

Death To Warm Anomalies!

Winter 2023-24 stats

Total Snowfall = 1.0"

Day with 1" or more snow depth = 1

Total Hail = 0.0

Total Ice = 0.2

Coldest Low = 13

Lows 32 or below = 45

Highs 32 or below = 3

Lows 20 or below = 3

Highs 40 or below = 9

Once again another overhyped hurricane. It's been 11 years since a hurricane actually truly delivered the goods.

I could still see a direct hit on Georgia or SC.

Definitely a shot on Monday and Tuesday now.     Looks like much nicer those days and we could get some clear nights.    And dry until Thursday.

Start following your own advice. Everyone, their brother and twin sister knows GOA troughing is in our near future. You were just Jim-pricking up the place as usual. This calling-it-as-I-see-it act is embarrassing.

Its impressive looking... and its up next.      Its truly the complete opposite of a GOA high which has been dominant.    Interesting on its own merits.

I also mentioned that Sunday looks like an over-performing arctic front... and it might allow for some cool days early next week.   And 1990 was a top analog recently.

Anything else?

Wow. You sound like me!

Of course, you are completely right. Born again "reformed" Tim is almost even harder to stomach than the more blatant asshat Tim of old. At least with that one you felt like you were getting the real deal.

He is simply a collection of passive-aggressive smiley's and forced seeming small talk-esque banter these days. Embarrassing is the right word for it. Especially since everyone sees right through the act.

How did we dodge a bullet there?

Someone didn't pay attention that day. The storm moved through. NOLA was mostly spared and it was declared that NOLA had "dodged a bullet" and that the city "had been spared." Then the levees failed and a lot of poor people got flooded out.

Yeah, that was in awful taste. Par for the course for a white supremacist.

I find that to be a pretty slanderous remark. But par for the course for a liberal afflicted by white guilt. Don't like someone, call them a racist!

Weather enthusiasts trivialize loss of life associated with extreme weather all the time. Playing the holier than thou role is pretty disengenuous.

So do lawyers.
